Unable to start new hard drive.(SATA)

by RonaldS1 - 5/14/06 2:13 PM

I installed a new SATA hard drive in my computer, ASUS A8V delux mother board; AMD processor 939 pin 3200; 500 W pwr supply;G-force FX 5200 video card; OB sound;dual cooling fans ect. In the device manager it shows the disc drive and the drivers, also shows up as a master drive, however it does not show up under MY Computer and I can't find the drive location. It is in the divice manager as I said, however I cannot write to it or install any programs on it. Any help would be very helpful. Thanks, Ronald C. Stoutenburg

(NT) Did you partition and format it?

Make sure under the bios that SATA has been enabled. Plus any drivers for usage are installed, regardless what the OS or system appears to say, just install if applicable. use the correct SATA port.

tada -----Willy :)
