by oglier - 5/13/06 8:52 AMDuring the boot/start up sequence the final line on my second screen is as follows:
Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM: Failure
YY
Start up will go no further and I cannot go into safe mode. Has anyone experienced similar problems or recognize YY.
I run XP with the latest Norton AV with Zone Alarm.

and I doubt if this is a malware problem but I could be wrong. There are 159,000 results in a Google search for that error though. Perhaps it might help you?

Characters did not copy out correctly. Should be the infinity character.
