NO VIDEO DISPLAYED

by srikat - 5/12/06 6:03 PM

I currently have a Compaq computer. It will start up but there is no video. I replaced the video card and it still does not work. I don’t know what it could be?

The hard drive gets warm when I start it. All the fans move including the video card and processor cooler. When I remove the memory it does not beep (didn’t beep when starting it before this problem). Is it the Motherboard, Memory Card, or Hard Drive?

If you have any idea please let me know!

Thanks, Matt

Matt, And Have You Swapped In....

... a known "good" monitor just to make sure it's not a dead monitor?

Do you see the POST information at start up? Or is there nothing on the video screen at all?

If you're getting no POST at start up, (nothing at all on the screen) and a known "good" monitor doesn't fix the issue, then it's probably a toasted motherboard.

Hope this helps and let us know more.

Grif
