After I got sloppy coming down the list and right clicked just before reaching "delete" I turned some really bad crap loose in my computer. I subscribed to noadware and they stayed with me for over a week in digging all the trojan loaders, toolbars, launchers, etc. Some of this stuff was hidden behind other so that repeat scans were necessary to stop it from replicating itself. They sent me precise instructions to do things in the guts of the computer that I would never have tried( or known how) to do. Finally got it clean. I have to give them five stars for service, patience, and qualifications
I see Ad-aware is the most popular. I used to use it until I started using Spy Sweeper. The Spy Sweeper found stuff Ad-aware ignored, but I chose not to ignore.
When trying to find a review of spyware removers, I stumbled upon www.revemospywareguide.com, and it rated XoftSpySE as the best spyware cleaner. I downloaded it and it did wonders for my PC
ewido - seems to always pick something out after SpySweeper and Spybot S & D.
I use both spy sweeper (paid for it) and ad aware (the free version). What I have noticed is that if I run a spy sweeper scan, and then run ad aware, ad aware always finds some critical items that spy sweeper missed. If I run ad aware first, then spy sweeper, spy sweeper never find anything further. Kind of makes me wonder why I paid for a two year subscription to spy sweeper!
I find that by using Ad Aware and then Webroot I keep my system real clean. What one misses, the other one gets. Using both takes a bit over an hour but I do it when I am through for the day.
I have five antispyware programs. My favorite is PCTools Spyware Doctor. It really hunts that crap down and kills it. stevenho22
I agree with steveho 22. I use! Spyware Doctor for spyware, together with Norton Internet Security 2006, also Ad-Aware Se Plus, and occasionally SpyBot. For Spyware I think Spyware Doctor is the tops, and it really keeps my computer and me very happy.
I my opinioun is the best way to get rid of spyware, throw your internet dsl out. This is not a joke, there is not one program that instals all programs and get rid off the junk fast, ok hitmanpro comes near what i like, but it is slugish, slow and you have to buy all the programs separately wich is cost in effective.
Just get a Mac.
Cheers

I, too, have a Mac, but that's no reason to be arrogant and say that I will never get into trouble with spyware. True, Macs on the market are far less than PCs, but sooner or later some yo yo will become tired of hacking into the PC world and try his/her hand at the Mac. I love the iMac G5, but I need to be on my guard.

nod is the only program with a 100% catch rate for in the field viruses. It's so good, it will even catch anything that acts like a virus even if it isn't in it's database. And the best part: unlike some programs *cough* Norton *cough* it wont hog all of your system resources. In fact, you'll barely know it's there.
use a Mac
I like XoftSpySE - it seems to dig deep, yet quickly, in rooting out spyware. But I also use the spyware component of Pc-Cillin Internet Security 2006 and Lavasoft Ad-aware SE.
Which is best? I have no good way of measuring, but all get good reviews. XoftSpySE is the least well known of the three.
