Hello. I am currently considering purchasing the new Megxon M500 Media Digital Box. After reading the previous posts it seems everyone has the same problem rgarding info as to Megxon products. I can't even find any on the Megxon site. If any one can help with info, or has pictures taken with the M500 it would be greatly appriciated. Thank You
James Ferguson
I have no idea what a "M500 Media Digital Box" is!
Google never heard of it either.
Perhaps you can provide a link so we can see one.

Greetings:
I see that there are some followers of Megxon cameras.
Well I think your right, there isn't much information about them.
Anyways if this helps here is the Website in Taiwain:
http://www.megxon.com/
Second, the Megxon M500 media player is a camera/media player, that has now get this a 5 megapixel cmos chip.
Looks to good to be true, but if true, this would be the second generation of Video cameras.
Also, you can record off your TV any program and view it later. It has a 128 meg internal memory, and can use a SD card for extra memory. The only thing that could be a problem is that the charger that charges the Rechargeable Lithium Battery works on 110 volts, and might not work on 220volts.I may be wrong, but from pictures I've seen, this may be the case.
I checked out the M500 on the Megxon site and it appears to be a digital camera wearing a different suit.
I see misleading information about the true megapixels of the camera. One document says it is 5,10 and 12 megapixels interpolated (therefore it is 3.1 megapixels) and another document says it is actually 5 megapixles.
It has no optical zoom
It has no viewfinder
The flash is rated at 6 feet.
It has a lot of gimmicks that may interest some.
But as a camera, it is lacking.

Hi
By what I've found out, this is a media box more than a camera, I was sent a video clip from someone who has one, recorded off DVD and it was impressively good.
The high megapixel claims are just the interpolated figures, I've been VGA res cameras, so I'll be more than happy with this. I'm getting one mainly for MP3 and movies on the go, it seems perfectly suited. Replacement NP60 batteries are inexpensive too and chargers, incl. multiple battery chargers are very cheap.
It won't be something a discerning photographer is ever going to want, but for taking snaps while on trips and stuff, seems great. I'm getting one as soon as I can afford it within the next fortnight.
http://www.extremevision.co.uk/megapix_pmp5.htm has info about it. It's known as a Megapix PMP5 and Megxon M500
reviewed by knowledgeable, independent people and you will be less likely to post a message about how to make this thing work, or how to fix it, or how it's a rip off. If it's legit, it will get a review.
No. But I've bought plenty of things which are not well-known and never find their way into reviews and most is garbage, but you do find the odd gem.
I was thinking of doing some kind of review when I get one, I'm just broke at the moment. ![]()
I wasn't advocating a dealer or anything, there was just info there, there are good prices on eBay and more info available on the Megapix site http://www.mega-pix.net/gb/pmp5/360_grad_panorama.htm
If someone gets one before me, let me know what it's like.
I've just bought one, although I'm not paying until monday, I will try and write a review when I get it. I've been speaking to some others who have bought one, and I think the fact this device is in a digital cameras forum may be a little misleading, it does have a camera but it's really a media player first, I'll be keen to test it's music and video capabilities. Although I am dubious about battery life.
If I get it by next weekend and I'm not busy, I'll do a review with photos, frames from video etc. etc. and upload it somewhere as a PDF and post a URL.
The seller I've bought it from was on eBay, and I've not seen a single bad feedback comment in regard to these devices.
I've bought one too (it's great so far) but the user manuals (in Adobe) are corrupt - there are lots of blank pages between page 6 and 44.
Does anyone have a non-corrupted user manual in English for the camera - not the other software that comes with it - that perhaps could be emailed to me?
Hello everyone, i have had a lot of interest on my site from this forum, thanks fjdouse esp i know that even though you didn't buy from me in the end but your comments were very kind.
The reason i am posting is that it has come to my attention that a website in america called techcomglobal (i am delibrately not posting a link to their site) has ripped off my website word for word including using my personal pictures. i want to state that this company is in no way affiliated with myself and to say they are unprofessional is putting it midly. i have emailed them to remove my pictures and wording including 'passes the extremevision test' as customers might think i am the same company as them but they refused i quote them from their reply email.
'Any press is good press. It will just draw more attention to my website. So bring on the drama'
Anyway i just want to assure you guys that i will continue to serve everyone to the best of my ability if you have any questions about this product whether you have purchased from me or not please feel free to contact me. check out the real deal on the M500 at http://www.extremevision.co.uk/

At the very top of your ad, it states that this is a 12 megapixel Digital Camera.
It is not a 12 megapixel digital camera.
This would make me question the truthfullness of all of your ads.
...
..
.
It is not a true 12 megapixel camera that much is very obvious if you read the ad. it has a 5.1 cmos sensor but what it has is a 12 megapixel interpolated mode. i haven't not made this figure up. it is advertised everywhere as up to 12 megapixel mode including on the manufactures website and on the box itself. if anyone has every asked me i have always been honest with the truth and this is why i am posting this reply to your question.
i will try and answer one of the most asked questions about this media box.
it is an average to good camera, a very average camcorder (though way better than your 3G mobile phone type), a average mp3 player (as long as you use external speakers), an excellent digital tv recorder, and has a few other features like games, calculator, calendar included just for good measure in case you might use them.
what i always say that it is one of very few that does all of them in one box and for the money it is excellent value for money.
Regards
Akin
Akin is absolutely right, only a fool is going to believe it's a 12MP camera! It's 5MP and it can scale the image UP TO 12MP using interpolation - don't bother, just use 5MP. Read the specifications!
Hi Akin, I didn't get mine from you in the end as it was bought as a present a week before I was going to buy it, but I really enjoyed our emails and would certainly recommend to anyone reading this that they should come to you first. You really did go out of your way for me and answered all my awkward questions - even at night ![]()
If I ever need a replacement, I'll be in touch. Cheers mate.
-Francis
you should run the interpolation up to 20 megapixels. Or more? How about an alarm clock and a tooth brush?
It's a shame people are taken in by such sophistry. I guess P.T. Barnum was right.
It has a alarm clock sweets. ;p
