please help me with my SATA Hard Drive Problem

by malcolm.hansen2 - 4/16/06 11:58 AM

Hi,

I have the following configurations

Intel Pentium D 3.0 Ghz x64
Asus P5N32-SLi Deluxe Motherboard
2 x 1GB DDR2 533 Mhz Transcend Chips
250 GB Seagate SATA Drive
nVidia 6600GT 256MB DDR3 PCI-E

My problem is, after installing the motherboard drivers, I see my hard drive as a USB Device. Its always ON, on my taskbar tray. I cannot stop that. I thought it was some system error, so I formatted and tried again, but still the same problem. Also after I formatted my system, the DATA on my e drive disappeard. It shows me an empty drive but the space used is about 30GB (That might be my data hidden somewhere) I have 4 partitions. This is a headache, can anyone please help me with this.

Sata Drive issue

Sometimes the drivers for the Sata driver may not be on the Motherboard driver disc. So you have to go to the Motherboard site which is ASus. Get the correct drivers from them for your Sata drive.
I had to do the same thing a little anoying but after trial and error my sata drive runs well with at this moment know issues.
Good Luck

It's a known annoyance item. But since SATA was designed for removal, it may be just fine.

Hi I found the solution

This is what can be done and it works

Please enter windows add/remove ,

find the nVIDIA DRIVERS item ,

choose delete it ,

when it ask you choose which part to delete ,

please only choose the NV IDE driver (cancel others parts) to continue .

after it is done ,reboot system ,test again

It has worked for me on my P5N32-SLi Motherboard
