If you haven't paid, don't pay. Send them an email

by Kiddpeat - 11/21/05 3:59 PM In reply to: thanks for your feedback, now what do I need to DO??? by teofil7

through eBay that you are withdrawing your bids and will not pay. The reason for not paying is that they misrepresented the camera to you.

That should be the end of it. They may give you negative feedback, but that's about it. You will be able to respond to their feedback.

spread the truth: SVP SELLS FALSE CAMERAS

by sgtdisturbed47 - 2/8/06 10:27 AM In reply to: 12 megapixel by snapshot2 Moderator

U have explained it perfectly. But, well, people are still going to get ripped off. It is such a shame. I hope SVP falls.

Thanks for your explanation

by houndpr - 4/12/06 9:02 AM In reply to: 12 megapixel by snapshot2 Moderator

Based on what I've read so far, I realize I'm going to get clipped for being new by some folks here -- simply because I'm waiting for my camera to arrive and I don't want to jump on the "this is a crap camera" wagon just yet..

I appreciate your explanation, though.. because while I don't feel like I have yet wasted my money (I paid less than $90 for SVP's DC-12f model), for my purposes, an interpolated 12MP from 3MP camera may suit my needs.

Considering my alternative has been to buy a disposable with limited functionality ($10 - $14) each time I went on vacation or took a weekend trip, then another $12 to have all my shots developed and put onto a CD -- waiting a week to get it from Walgreens or CV, I think as long as the thing works and takes pictures better than my cell phone, I'll be satisfied.

Again, though.. I do appreciate the information and I think I'll check back when I get it and test it out to let you folks know what I think. I will post the test shots on photobucket and include some links so you can view the shots yourselves.

Thanks!
Stefanie

In a word, yes.

Paying too much for it is unfortunate.

You need to read the specs!

by nycboy0156 - 12/4/05 2:12 AM In reply to: thanks, but it's a 12 mega pix by teofil7

It says very clearly in black and white that it has a 3.1 megapixel sensor. What do you think now?

You got ripped off. ITS CALLED FALSE ADVERTISING!!!

by sgtdisturbed47 - 2/8/06 10:25 AM In reply to: thanks, but it's a 12 mega pix by teofil7

It says 12 megapixel, but it is 3-5 MP at best. You payed 90 dollars for a piece of crap, simple as that. Oh, and you just supported the SVP fraud. thanks for feeding the enemy.

Take fast pictures?

by Kiddpeat - 11/20/05 12:04 AM In reply to: Inaccurate Battery Information Given by SVP by teofil7

Just kidding. Do you, by any chance, hold the shutter half way down for long periods? This will drink power out of the batteries. I'm not defending this SVP junk, but maybe there's a work around for the battery issue.

Thanks, I haven't thought about that

by teofil7 - 11/20/05 1:56 PM In reply to: Take fast pictures? by Kiddpeat

the battery indicator level seems to go down especially when zooming in and out, and of course, when taking the pictures. I cannot say that I am holding it on focus too much, but I'll try to keep that in mind when I use it again.
Thanks
Do you also know anything about conditioning the NiMH batteries? I was told that I have to drain them out completely and than to charged them again for several times before using them. So I did as instructed, and of course it took me 4 hours to drain the batteries! than I strted to charge them again. I hope it works. what do you think about this?

As far as I know, that's not true. It sounds like someone

Tooting Their Own Horn

by snapshot2 Moderator - 5/22/05 2:03 PM In reply to: SVP by J_K_101

The first site is selling SVP cameras.

The second site is SVP cameras.

Both sites contain misleading advertising.

Do you really want to buy from someone who uses misleading advertising.

The prices on the first site are much too high for what you get.

If you want a good low cost camera with no optical zoom.

I think this kind of business conduct/practice qualifies to complain to the Better Business Bureau or Consumers Affairs Dept. in your area. I just did.

4NowInc is a scam operation. Please listen to me and don't buy into this operation. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me at a_gates@uop.edu. I am a pharmacist who decided to try out a reasonably priced camera on e-bay and I got taken!!!!! Their cameras are JUNK. They don't work worth a dime!!! Stay away!!!!! If you have any idea how to get my money back from these people, please let me know(they say that there are no returns period!).
