Compact Zoom

10X 12X Zoom cameras are generally not compact.

Nikon is the only exception that I know of.
The Nikon S4 has a 10X optical zoom.
Its measurments are: 112 x 69 x 37 mm (4.4 x 2.7 x 1.5 in).
It sell for about $340.

12X zoom cameras with image stabilization will run about $350 to $500. These cameras will be physically larger than the Nikon S4.

Canon S2-IS, S3-IS
Kodak P850, Z612
Panasonic FZ5, FZ6
Sony H1 H2

Canon SD700

According to Amazon.com, the SD700 is not yet released.

So there are no reviews available.

It seems to fall somewhere between the SD450 and SD550:

It is 6 megapixels, 4X Zoom and has image stabilization.
Image Stabilization usually is not really needed with a 4X zoom, but it can be a bit helpful when shooting in low light situations, when shutter speeds drop below 1/60th of a second.

However it does not have the specifications that would make it a choice low light camera.
