SVP DV-6305 Video d/l help, plz

by webctrl - 3/21/06 3:56 PM

I recently purchased this cam from Ebay. So far, the still pics are pretty clear, the mp3 function works, the voice function works and the mass storage works pretty good. Heres the prob... The video's I record, I can view and hear on the cam, itself. When I plug the cam into my USB port, I can transfer files and pics from the cam, but
the video files (.asf) wont play thru any type of media player that I have or have downloaded. When I check the properties, it seems that the vid files consist of only audio All of my codecs are up to date and I use Win XP. I have tried Win Media Player, Quicktime, DivX, RealPlayer and others that I tried from the web. I tried installing the drivers from the disk and from the site, uninstalling, installing, bla bla. The seller (Linda's camera World) says to contact SVP tech support, but no reply. I'm beginning to get irritated. Someone plz help...

SVP DV-6305

It appears that the DV-6305 is not listed as a current product on the SVP site.

They do have some information on it:

http://www.svp-tech.com/pdf/DV-6305.pdf

It says that the video is MPEG-4.

See if you can find a player for MPEG-4.

Try emailing SVP again.
They claim that they support their products.

Looks Like Trouble

Not to discourage you or anything, but have you seen the other digital camera forums that deal with both your SVP manufacturer and seller Linda's Cameras? They do imply "tech support" but oh-my-god it looks like you may have a real uphill battle on your hands! Good Luck!

I thought Quicktime supported MPEG4.

SVP assistance

by bobbyball43 - 8/27/09 8:42 AM In reply to: SVP reply by webctrl

Don't hold your breath!! SVP is a bad camera, bad assistance and really bad company!!! They rip folks off with their false advertising and the way they sell the cameras. You buy them from a 3rd party (usually E-Bay) and when they don't work or you find out it's a piece of crap you go back to the e-bay seller and they send you to SVP. SVP will very rarely solve the issue. Believe me when I tell you I had collected well over 150 people who had crap from them. I wanted to start a class action but I never figured out (but didn't have a lot of time to dedicate) to find a attorney. I probably still have all the emails for the people who contacted me if someone will find the attorney to take a class action.
