Have an 8 yr. old HP DeskJet 710c; it's been more than good enough for my needs for the whole time. Anything from copying Jeep parts bidding records from my successfull eBay bids on plain, (actually COPY), paper--- to beautiful steam railfan trip photos on Kodak Photo Print paper. I'm plenty happy. *****
I own a HP 750 psc and I love it. We started in the computor world with Lexmark printers and argued with it a lot! the ink costs more than the printer and it uses a lot of ink. I had to replace the cartridges about every 3 months. Yes you can refill them yourself, but then they leak or dry out. With my HP the cartridges last about 6 months, and I'm not printing any less. About Paper, I have settled on the hp brand because it works best with my printer. I have tried other brands but the pictures fade, or are grainy, or the color is not right. I know I can get cheaper paper but I would not have taken the picture if I didn't want to keep it.
The Oki C5250 is both faster and higher quality than I had been led to believe by the salesperson. I started out wanting a Brother, but she listened and questioned to find out exactly what I needed it for, and she recommended the Oki instead. And boy am I glad. It is not claimed to be photo quality but it comes close enough for some useages. But as a printer of ad-hoc and short-run marketing material it is excellent. 5 Stars.
I have a HP Deskjet. Be very sure I will never, repeat never, buy any HP product again. They have zero, I mean zero, support for their products. My printer is less than two year old and it is not even listed on their website. But that wouldn't matter since they have very little on their website to support you.
Get this, even the address of their home office on the website is wrong. I sent them a letter since I couldn't get any help by phone or website and it came back marked with address unknown.
HP is the worse in a class of companies that make customer care and service their last priority. This website should devote itself to demanding better service from these ripoff outfits that think they are a distributor and nothing else. We know they don't make the stuff, and they don't service the stuff, and they don't even support the stuff.
You could do everyone a public service by posting the names of companies who do provide good customer support.

And I like this Epson and the 777 also
but next time I think I will get an Xerox--my sister has one, and it prints really great pictures on plain paper.

I have been using the Epson Sylus Photo 810 for a couple of years now and have to say when it was new it was great, top quality photo`s using Epson ink and paper...Now however it is messy, refuses to accept some papers ( Epson or others )print quality is poor and head cleaning can sometimes use up to a quarter of the ink if done as instructed.OVERAL VIEW ePSON ARE GOOD NEW BUT SHELF LIFE IS NOT LONG ENOUGH CONSIDERING THE HIGH ORIGINAL OUTLAY
I own a hp psc 2410 photosmart all-in-one. This is a very good printer if you require all the functions available. I received it as a gift and needed all the facilities especially the Fax. For style I would rate it 9, for size 6, as it is rather heavy and cumbersome/takes up a lot of space. Ease of use 8, however some of the settings are hard to do as you have to be very quick with the mouse. I have since disabled the fax as I no longer need it, this caused some trauma. Paper feed good, 8. Photo printing exremely slow, 6, Ink usage poor 5, and cartridge costs high 5, and re-fills if available, good quality if you find the right place. Overall 6.7 Average.
My daughter purchased a Canon Pixma MP 800 and in comparison to the HP I own I would rate the Canon MP 800 as a far superior Printer. Photo quality is superior and the ability to use old films and slides leaveds the HP far behind. I would rate the Canon Pixma 800 as 9 out of 10. A far better printer by far.

I use old HP Laserjet6P for general office printing virtually all text and internet printing. A workhorse now 10+ yrs. old and no problems. Used also as small law office "network printer on a "temporary" basis (2 yrs.!!) Also in another venue a HP laser jet 3030 ---faster and quieter than inkjet but of course no color. Color ? Waiting to buy top quality photo printer Epson or Canon when I decide to break down and spend the $ it takes
Very happy with performance. The only problem is the cost of HP Cartridges. This may deter me from HP in the future.
See my review under Cnet product reviews/user opions for this printer ("Pipedreams"re. "Excellent performer")
I have a Brother DCP - 110C, which is the fourth printer I have had in the 15 years or so since I bought my first computer.
I believe this is by far the best value for money of any - it also combines copier & scanner, and has the lowest cost consumables I have experienced.
The previous (Lexmark) produced similarly excellent printing results, but ink cost was significantly higher, and I needed a seperate scanner.
The Brother range is amazing value.
hp psc 1315 all-in-one.
satisfied.
only real problem is that I can not print addresses directly onto the envelopes that I use - 11 1/2 cms X 22 1/2 cms. They are too wide and won't bend around the printer. However, address labels are OK!
Photos are excellent.
Photocopying is also excellent
as is the Printing.
Hope this helps your survey!

I have an Epson 1290. When first buying a printer, I looked at all the brands and decided on Epson (I started with an A4 printer) as it stated "photo printer", and that was was I wanted to print - photos or pictures to frame. I generally buy theA3 or A4 Epson Photo Paper, but also buy the Premium photo paper S041285, which produces very good results indeed. I firmly believe in using Epson papers for Epson printers, and will continue to do so.
