Folder Permissions Help!!

I don't have much experience with setting permissions for various folders and whatnot so here is my problem. I have Windows Sever 2K3 and a few XP clients, I have created shares on the server that I want users to be able to access when they login. I've already got .bat files to map the shares when they login I just need help with setting the right permissions. All users have a public drive and a personal drive that is mapped and I need to know the permissions so that they have full control of their personal drives and are only able to read/write/list that of the public drive. Thanks for your help.
