How to install new hard drive into PC with no OS
by rjjone2 - 3/28/06 8:27 PMI bought a Maxtor SATA 300 GB Model # 6V300F0, because my old hardrive (Maxtor Diamond Max 10 200GB Sata 150) crashed. It would not operate on any system and the "blue screen of death" led me round in circles.
I have installed the new hard drive. Do I format, do I boot off the XP CD-ROM; Do I need a format disk?
I do know that I need help.
I am having "Internet Deprivation"
Anyone out there!!!!!!!

Then boot from XP CD-ROM and start the installation.
It's not necessary to format a HDD before installation.
