hpcmpmgr.exe won't close during shutdown
by dawn31400 - 3/23/06 8:31 PMI am currently running Windows XP (upgraded from ME)on an HP Pavillion XL847 384mb of RAM (4yrs old) and recently while shutting down my system I have been getting the HPcmpmgr.exe pop up window asking me to end this program. Does anyone know why this is happening all of a sudden and how I can fix the problem? It's a pain to manually end this program evey time I shut down

HP released a patch to fix that error on Windows XP systems a while back because it was so common. It can be downloaded by clicking here.
