Image Editing Software

by ngb1959 - 3/21/06 9:42 PM

Hi Everyone:

I want to be able to "blur" the edges of my photos. Here is an example of a picture with that effect.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v290/ngb1959/animals/katie1.jpg

That is a picture of a dog my friend made. She uses Picture-It.

Are there any freebies out there that will do the same thing?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Nina

edges on pictures

Hi Nina, I think you can get what you are looking for by downloading "FastStone Image Viewer 2.4" . FastStone is freeware and is downloaded for free. I have tried out any number of editing programs and FastStone seems to have as much as any of them. After you download it, Click on EDIT, and go to the bottom of the list and Click on Frame marks. I think you will find what you are looking for. Their website is
www.FastStone.org You can download directly from them.

You aren't going to believe this, but I already had the picture it software. I looked through my disks from when I bought my computer and there it was!! For some reason I took it off my computer. LOL.

Thanks so much for your help David - I'll check out that other site too.

Have a good rest of the week.

Photo editing s/w

by tasuray - 3/22/06 8:49 PM In reply to: edges on pictures by ngb1959

Hi Nina,
You can try Picasa2, which is a free one. Photo Plus is another option (it is also free). These s/w are very easy to handle. As such no expertise is needed. But the best option for photo editing is obviously Adobe Photoshop but it requires lot os skills and moreover it is not free.
