Windows XP: No right click
No right click

First, the right click function on the Desk Top, it's icons and the Tool Bar. No longer calls up anything. I need to know the regedit settings, if that is the problem.
Next, my Shut Down and Log Off have disappeared from my Start menu.
Finally, System Restore will not start.
Sounds like virus infections to me.

What do you use to protect yourself against hackers, viruses and spyware?
Try an online scan at http://housecall.trendmicro.com
then download and install Ewido (http://www.ewido.net ), and let it remove anything it finds.

I doubt quite seriously that the problem is a virus or anything else infecting my computer. I have the following safeguards installed:
NOD32(one of the very best AVs,By Eset.com)
Zone Alarm Pro 6.1.737.000
Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.4
Ad-Aware SE Plus, Build 1.06r1
Microsoft AntiSpyware(Beta 1) 1.0.701
Registry Mechanic 5.0.0.142
All definitions are up to date.
A Suggestion
by phantazy - 3/20/06 2:35 AM In reply to: Viruses by sroyetonThere is sometimes a problem with Windows Updates noticed recently. System Restore and Search were disabled by one such. I would try uninstalling, if you have received lately. Otherwise the only suggestion is to stop processes one by one in msconfig.
