Added a 2nd hard drive and most files downloaded are corrupt

by zerotonin - 3/11/06 12:42 PM

I have a computer put together by a friend. The original hard drive I have is 60G. That become close to full pretty quickly so I added a second 200G hard drive myself. I had a friend help me partition the hard drives and all seemed to work fine. I use the 60G for my program files and started using the 200G for music downloads. But after I save the music and either listen to or burn the music to cd it seems the files are corrupted. The music at random times seems to switch over to other music files I have downloaded on my computer, and speed up as it does this and then comes back to the original song. ALmsot a screeching noise is made with the music when this occurs. I did a test and saved some music to the original 60G hard drive and this doesn't happen. Also, it seems that my music and pictures I save to the second hard drive become missing. Any ideas? PLEASE HELP!! Thank you

IT might be a Faulty HDD... My friend had the same problem and took the drive back to where he bought it from. He got another 1 in place of it, and all is well...
