Complaints about a lousy product are now 'whining'.

by Kiddpeat - 1/24/06 4:41 AM In reply to: sorta off topic by sghaey

That's rich! Undoubtedly coming from those who are profiting from this crap amid more BS about 12 megapixels from a 3 or 5 megapixel camera.

SVP manufactures fraudulent cameras

by sgtdisturbed47 - 2/8/06 9:06 AM In reply to: svp by inking

I am an avid Ebay member, and there are hundreds and hundreds of these "12 megapixel" cameras, but they are realy only about 1-3 megapixel. If you see a 12 megapixel camera from either SVP or Gigxon, DO NOT BUY, they are fakes, every single one. They may take up to 4 megapxel resolution pictures, but to inexperienced users, you wont see much difference between 12 and 4 MP. Becasue 3 and 4 MP cameras take clear pictures most of the time, most people are satisfyed with these 12 MP cameras, but the fact remains they are NOT 12 megapixel. Seeing as an excelent 8 megapixel camera goes for about 500-700 bucks, u can imagine how much an ACTUAL 12 megapixel camera would cost. So, keep in mind, first of all, Ebay does not realy care what items are up for auction becasue users must pay to post an auction item, so ebay won't crack down on fraud becasue they would lose money, second of all, like I already mentioned, never ever buy a camera that is manufactured by SVP or Gigxon, for they are false-quality cameras.

SVP cameras are worthless crap

by sgtdisturbed47 - 2/8/06 3:29 PM In reply to: svp by inking

If you have never heard of the company and the company doesn'e have any popularity, then avoid it, even when they tempt you with fraudulent quality statements and low prices ( you get what you pay for, remember that)

SVP CAMERAS ARE CRAP???? 8610 or 7530

by robbiezuk - 2/8/06 6:15 PM In reply to: SVP cameras are worthless crap by sgtdisturbed47

Has anyone bought either the 8610 or 7530 are they value for money?
I have read through this forum before buying one of these cameras and have a few comments

In all the sites I have been on, these 10 or 12 megapixel seem too good to be true for the money but all the ones I have been on do state that these are actually only 3 megapixel sensors that are interpolated to 12MP FOR PRINTING.

A few posts on here seem to be happy with their cameras these seem to be the ones with the 7 or 8MP like the 8610 or 7530 these have 5 or 6MP sensors which are interpolated only a couple of megapixels higher these seem very reasonably priced for a genuine 5MP camera

Two years ago I purchased a Fuji finepix F401 marketed as a 4MP recording camera on the box but also stated that it was 2.1MP effective camera as the sensor is only 2.1 MP but upon questioning this was informed it was a new technology to boost the sensor recordings with a high definition processor to effectively make it a 4MP picture.......the point is I havent noticed Fuji`s name slated everywhere as con merchants

DON'T PAY FOR THIS TOY! GET YOUR MONEY BACK!

by buter - 2/9/06 12:30 AM In reply to: svp by inking

If you have gone through all of the steps and measures, and have failed to come to a reasonable solution that will satisfy you with your purchase. You as the consumer actually have several options, available to you. Yes believe it or not the law is on your side. You don't have to be stuck with a worthless camera, and lose your hard earned money. With some patience it is fairly easy to get your money back. Simply file an honest dispute telling them accuarately and honestly why you feel you are not liable for this purchase. READ HOW TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK!

CDC-7530 the good, the bad, and the great

by vince8 - 3/9/06 10:46 AM In reply to: svp by inking

Hi there people i just got on the c|net and found that there is a lot of people that don't like the SVP camera but i have to say the camera that I have is working great for me a CDC-7530. It started out bad some of the picture that i was taking so blurry after playing around with the camera for a few hours i have the camera down to the T. I took the camera on a trip to Las Vegas for the week. All the picture came out great, perfect I have to say. For some it came out blurry but i was to drunk to hold the camera steady. But that another story. Anyways I just have to say that the SVP camera that i have is one of the camera that me and my girlfreind use the most. The camera even have a video mode. Vidoe camera out okay not the best video but i can live with it. One last thing to all people that think that SVP camera are not good or it a bad camera just by reading the hype on c|net try the camera out for yourself then talk.

Now just hang on a moment before you judge others!

by teb863 - 3/21/06 3:20 PM In reply to: CDC-7530 the good, the bad, and the great by vince8

Just a FYI, I made the mistake of buying the crappy camera, I would have tested it out more if by the third set of batteries would have lasted more that 10 minutes. I also had the good fortune of buying a polaroid that is 10 times the quality of the SVP camera and have not had to change the batteries out once and its been a month.

Dont think that just because we post here that we did not try out the merchandise. We are trying to warn people before they lose their money, not to mention 2 weeks of pure exasperation of trying to get their money back! Its not JUST HYPE.

BTW-do you work for SVP? Curious to know whether you are still on.

He's an SVP shill who brags of taking pictures while drunk.

by Kiddpeat - 3/21/06 3:29 PM In reply to: Now just hang on a moment before you judge others! by teb863

Maybe that's needed before the SVP pictures look good. He made one post in cnet (to praise SVP), and is undoubtedly long gone.

SVP camera's/ don't do it!!!

by wfbnadador - 3/12/06 7:09 AM In reply to: svp by inking

I have never replied to any previous purchases from the internet but this warranted a reply. I purchased two SVP camera/camcorders on Ebay for my daughters for Christmas. They are supposed to have been 12M but are more like 2Megapixels. Both of them don't work now and I have since returned them. It's been over 1 month and I haven't heard anything from SVP. I'll probably end up chalking this up as a loss.

SVP won't help with non working cameras

by jjheil - 3/17/06 1:56 AM In reply to: SVP camera's/ don't do it!!! by wfbnadador

But you shouldn't have to take a loss. SVP and some of its ebay vendors (such as Linda's_Camera_World) claim to have great customer service, but in reality all you will ever have is more copy and paste 'helpful hints'. If you don't accept their offer to "exchange" instead of refund, they become increasingly more hostile until they start calling you names. Just don't deal with their nonsense, go straight to Paypal or your credit card company to get your money back.

if you bought the cameras through paypal or through a credit card, initiate procedures for a refund / chargeback. Ebay will start paying attention if enough of these happen. 145 'mutually withdrawn sales' through linda's camera world alone, last time I checked. Don't forget to leave bad feedback, and don't make my mistake of posting the url to here in your feedback, because that's against ebay feedback rules.

Good luck!
