I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH MSN
I use yahoo messanger all the time, been using it for 6 years now. I love the smileys. It is also easy to use. Any begininer can figure it out.
Personally,I prefer to use Skype because it is by far,the safest at the present time.Fully protected by firewall.
I also have and use,Msn and Yahoo but for these to work, one has to allow "Exceptions" in Windows Firewall or they can't get out.
It may well be a load of horse puckies but the word I get is that Skype is far more secure, that even those involved/connected with Homeland Security can't monitor Skype as they do other versions of messaging.Trillium,I wouldn't touch with the proverbial 10 foot pole.Installed it once long ago and it takes right over your Yahoo and Msn messaging.Soon as I saw that it was gone.Word also has it that come sometime this summer,Microsoft and Yahoo will be ready to combine or make those two IM's interoperable,so we'll have to wait and see on that.As far as actually "Voice"over messaging,Skype is also far and away the best and clearest to use.The person your speaking with whether in UK or Au or anywhere else,it's very much like they are in the room with you, combine this with the Webcam and it's really glory days using Skype.Just my opinion of course so no need to pick my bones over it fellers and gsls.SeeeeeYaaaaaa.SS
I use the new windows Live 8 still has some things that need to be worked out but it is still pretty good. Cece3
if you have dialup the you can use a messanger but if u have hispeed then get google talk
it will let you talk just like on the fone except for free (search google for it)
all u need is a mic (a real cheap 1 will do )and headfones
It is fantastic to see such a turnout on this issue, everyone's choices, decisions, are equally valid regardless of whether someone else agrees or not.
As for me,I sincerely can't see anyone using Trilliam as an instant messenger--unless your new,don't/didn't have any other messengers to start with.I too, took it installed it and re-booted to finish off the process. Before I even got to try it,soon as it was loaded,it took complete control of Yahoo and Msn,removed all addresses from them and disabled them.Deleted it asap, had to re-install both Yahoo and Msn.The only one it didn't begger up was Skype.I'm pretty much game to try any and all new products but there's no way in heck a messenger program is going to dictate what I use or when.Have had no conflicts with either Yahoo or Msn since their earliest versions and Skype gets along well with both, all 3 running same time.Different strokes for different folks is the reason for 3.Those in different parts of the world like/prefer this or that and if you wish to communicate--well,you get the one they use,no argument there.
The only one I haven't experienced is Google.I have literally everything Google has to offer except Gmail.Don't need it with a premium browser with it's own email client built in and a 3gb storage for free.If and when Google ever disables/gives up that provision,I'll have Google IM tootsweet.Google is great otherwise, any and all features I have are instantly updated as something new is added without having to check it out myself.
Well, that's my nickles worth for today.Everyone have a swell Easter.Enjoy today as there may not be a tomorrow.SS
I just found it a few days ago ...
I am a frequent gamer, and I use Xfire, a lesser-known, but awesome IM client that lets you talk while playing(voice and text) It shows you if your friends are playing a game, and if they are playing in a server online, and you have the game they're playing, you can click a button, and Voila, You're in the game!
You can also take screenshots easily, and group chatting is awesome for communicating with your team while pwning the other team! it's free too, and their is only one ad, whch is not a big deal. you can also download custom skins for it, and you can make your own too! Check it out at: http://www.xfire.com/

I have always used Yahoo. But I have always worried abt how secure Yahoo actually is.
I have seen tools and softwares using which one can spy on other people's conversations.I had seen a live demonstration of it once.I was unnerved. And I wonder if people can peek and watch ur webcams too. That is what scares me and I do not know how to secure the chat and webcam.
I am thinking of shifting to skype although it doesnt have those emoticon and other such features i guess it might be more secure?
Hi everyone,
