Try the person you brought it from

He should have supplied all the disks.

Alternatively you can buy direct from Microsoft for a replacement CD.

A guy walking down the street was approached by a hooker. She says, "I'll do anything you want for a hundred bucks". He stops, thinks, then says, "Paint my house".

OEM software is usually about half price. . .

Here's one of many on a Google search for oem xp pro

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=335900

A cavieat for OEM software:

Note: This version of Microsoft Windows XP cannot be upgraded from earlier versions of Windows. If your operating system is Windows 2000/ME/98 you must backup your data before installation. This OEM version will only allow a clean Install, and your existing data will be deleted.

I've used OEM XP Home with zero problems.

Then you are going to eBay

with total risk that any that you can afford will be illegal/bootleg and you will be contacted by MIcrosoft the first time you go to their upgrade site. You can get OEM XP Home for $99 at newegg / Tiger etc. Pefectly legal and complete versions with no extra crap.

Maybe you are about to learn Linux or such.

Ask Robert for advice. You will not have to paint his house, but you will get good advice for Op Systems that you can get basically free and legal.

I agree with Ray Harinec

$139 is cheap for legal XP Pro.

Xandros (open circulation) is the closest thing to Windows that I have used and is free.

If you're a student, you can get the student edition of XP pro. It is the full edition of XP Pro without all the packaging or manuals.
You can get it if you're taking as little as one class at a community college.
