I have had these sorts of notices arrive by snail mail, but by email was a first. As the header said "Symantec", I opened it.
It begins (with my name misspelled)
"Dear Anjeline Booher
This e-mail is to inform you of a settlement involving Symantec Corporation. If you prefer not to or are unable to open the pdf attachments, please visit the settlement website at www.softwaresettlement.com.
E-mail replies to this address will not be read or returned.

The rest looks like any other such notice.
Did I receive a scam, or is this true?
Thank you.
Angeline
I found this

I don't know if it's related to what you received.
I beleive that the misspelling of ones name is a clue.

.... I did a Google search, and found the case to which you linked (again in a CA court), but it does not apprear to be the same.
I could not even find a reference to HEALTH AND SPORT, LLC.
As this may very well be a phising expedition, I think my next move should be to contact Abuse at my ISP.
Thanks!
Angeline
I can find nothing specific about it being a phishing problem. Still, if you're interested, you should certainly check out all the specifics first. Here's a link to the FAQ page about the suit. Toll Free telephone number given if you want to call. The Case Number is given to check on with the courts. the case is not final yet as the final filing date is June 12, 2006. Links for other information documents are on the left.:

But the main question is..Do you have Symantec products on your computer? And sinc the award is simply a $15 dollar rebate certificate, is it really worth it, either way?
Hope this helps.

... Norton Internet Security 2004.
I have huge problems with it, but none of the 3 noted in the suit.
I certainly do appreciate your finding the site for me. I was not successful in my search.
Just so strange to get a notice via email.
Thank you!!!
Angeline
..products as the settlement, I'm not sure it's worth worrying about..I'd delete the message.
Take care.

your e-mail address in the first place. I use NAV 2004 and don't have the problems described and I also never got that e-mail unless I deleted it thinking it was spam, which actually it IS IMO. There are so many phishing, etc. attempts nowdays, I would never trust anything like that myself.
...because she's WAY prettier than you or I..

Symantec has MY address but these lawyers don't AFAIK but you never know nowadays.
they could have gotten the email address from Symantec as they would have gotten this info on registration. How ever I am a registered former user of this product and never recieved any notice either. And as I noted in my other post, the documents have questionable wording. It smells very PHISY to me.
I went out to the the website you gave and checked them out. Though the paperwork appears to be legit, it has some wording that I find questionable:
“Proof of Purchase” may include sales receipts, invoices, credit card billings, and/or other similar written materials that evidence the purchase of Eligible Product.
“Claim Documentation” may include sales receipts, purchase orders, repair invoices, credit card billings, cancelled checks, contemporaneous e-mail threads, and/or other similar written materials that support your claim.
This wording was found in the area of how to file a claim. The reason that I question this, is because if you made a legitamit purchase and registered your product with Symantec, they should have that information already. You should only have to provide an proof of purchase serial number from your box or CD. This sounds like a scam to get peoples banking information and access to your records.
I should note also that I was a user of Norton's AV 2004 and I never recieved any notice via email or snail-mail and my copy was registered with Symantec. My suggestion, check it out, but don't give out any private information. If the suit and settlement are valid, Symantec should have information about it. Contact them directly and let them tell you what to do. Don't trust the people who sent out the notice!
If you go to symmantic's website and enter "class action" in the serch box it comes up with links to the settlement website.
