thats the simplest and best im i have ever used !!!!!!!!!
the im application itself is probably the best designed. but aim, yahoo, and msn were there first and people dont want to switch to something entirely new such as Talk
Trillian, GAIM, mIRC are the big three for me
meebo.com
I used to be into AOL Instant Message, cause that's what most friends and family were using. But when I got my Dell 8400 Media Center last year I had to drop it. AIM captures the TV tuner on my PC and won't let go. AOL said it was a Microsoft problem and Microsoft said it was an AOL fault. Since I paid for the TV tuner I figured I'd use it, which I really don't anymore, and I deleted AIM. My teenage son keeps putting it back on, or he puts Trillian on instead, but I get so many hung app. error messages that I'm always deleting those programs too, and more or less the hung app goes away. I did like AIM when I used to use it, though.
meebo.com is a website that allows you to connect to several different messaging services (AIM, Yahoo, ICQ...) all in your browser. Works great in cases like this, or when you are at a public/school computer.
I use Yahoo because all my friends have yahoo, plus i love the avatar you can make on there.
Adium is the best. It's mac only, but everyone should get a mac if only to get this program
the answer is why not
it is the one I am most comfortable with
I find it easier to use and the most simplest one
you get the one you feel at ease with
like you do with a make of car
you can find people who swear by Ford, Chevrolet or Dodge
I always use skype and msn, as i have friends on skype that dont have msn, and friends on msn that dont have skype. So i always have both running at the same time!
I use it because its the only one I can leave a msg. on and the ignore is great. The msg archive is to die for. etc etc
The best is the one that secured, easy to install, little trouble/problems and fun to use.
So, The BEST is the multi IM software.. you only need one IM program running, instead of several IM.
They only need to add more security and features.
between the 4 software I tried (Gaim, Trillian, Miranda, Jabber) ... Gaim is better than the others.
because it was designed by microsoft to be used with all windows operating systems
I use Messenger, because it ties in nicely with my yahoo e-mail addresses. Although Messenger is 'resource' hungry, it none the less proves to be a great IM. With the new feature of exchanging photos etc, it is quicker now for me to send a .jpg than to e-mail it. I have a few problems loading into chat rooms, but the IM winows are excellent. I can be in a room, chat to people via big screen, have a couple of IM windows open, and be linked into a private room with 3 or 4 people. All at the same time. (Only you have to be visible to send and receive pictures etc)
The "why" part of the question is easily answered by the mere fact that it has Voice & Webcam capabilities! I have considered d/l one of the "all-in-one" pkgs, but stick w/Yahoo because of the "perks"!
