I miss Old Kent Bank too but they too are never comming back
I had Cingular (Formerly Pacbell Wireless) for about 3-4 years and the coverage got progressively worse. They would not take care of coverage issues and I had about 5 tickets open reporting the problem. No one ever called me back. I finally called to talk to a manager, I was told a manager would call me back within 48hrs. No call back in 48hrs. So if they cant hold up their end of the bargain, what makes them think I can.
They killed my contract for me and all I had to do is pay for my month of service.
Switched to Verizon Wireless (been there for 4 yrs now) and have always had great customer service and they've always been great. One time they didnt fess up to their promotion but were nice and went half in with me for a credit.
I think that no matter who your phone service provider is they all charge way over the top charges. You only have to look around to see how many people own a mobile... all these paying high charges. You then see on TV or read in Financial papers just how much profit these companies are making often millions a year so why do they have to rip everyone off so much? It's about time they started thinking of the public... the folks who are "lining their pockets". They've got us all over a barrel now that we are all so used to owing a mobile.
I have 4 years worth of nightmares and issues with their customer service. I should write a book.
Been with Cingular going on 9 years. Started when they were Bell South Mobility in TN. Been pretty pleased with my service. Customer Service always helpful.
And I've never had any problems. (sorry it's true)
My provider is Tracfone,so I've had no problems what so ever. It's always there for me and it's cheap with out the yearly contracts, but then I do not do so many calls.I buy the minutes I forsee using and the phone always has an update on minutes remaining.
When I first arrived in Spain 7 years ago, I had Amena as my provider. I was on pay as you go but you couldnīt add credits after 7pm or get any operator service. Ringing any number was hit and miss sometimes you got it and sometimes you didnīt!!!! If you went inland the transmitters were few and far between and getting a signal was nearly impossible. Now Iīm with Movistar (Telefonica) and life is so different!!!

I can't say enough about T-Mobiles' Customer Service. Of the few issues I've had, they have always come through. I think the coverage is very good as well and they are continually expanding it. At $50.00 a month for 1500 ANYTIME, nation-wide minutes, I can't complain about the price either. I've heard some say that T-Mobile doesn't have the greatest phone selection and after recently doing some research to upgrade from an older phone, I guess I can't disagree with that statement. But, they excell where it counts; customer service and coverage area. I won't be changing anytime soon!
We use MTS (Manitoba Telecom Services) use to be Manitoba Telephone System.
Cellular One . . . . They have not quite "worked hard enough to provide the most comprehensive network" in the country? as advertised. There is no coverage in sections of Walkersville and Woodsboro, Maryland. Frustrating . . . . . because Sprint does work there.
Here in NC we were dumped from AT&T to SunCom as part of the Cingular / AT&T deal (some FCC trade-off). I just thought AT&T was bad...........stupid me. Wireless data capability disappeared and never returned, roaming & service when poof, and when I wanted to change to Cingular (who had only been taking my money for six months prior to their AT&T deal closing), Cingular says, "You'll need new phones & plans, etc." All to the tune of about $700.
Heartfelt thanks to the FCC. I just love progress!!
Have cingular, a corporate decision, service is lousy, and cingular admits that it will never get any better. I don't live in the country, or the bottom of a valley, we are in the corridor between boston and providence, with lousy service, sometimes it takes two days for a voice mail to register.
Others within the company in this area report the same poor quality of service.
Had nextel before and would go back in a heart beat.
Technology is a great thing, but when it comes to cell phones...arrrrgh!
The main reason I don't have one, is that I find the !#@*! phones very invasive and an insult to my personal space. I have been forced to listen to meaningless chatter, annoying ring tones, braying laughter, tense arguments, and I've been overexposed to people's ''personal tidbits'' that I would rather know a LOT LESS of! Too much information, if you know what I mean.
How badly do you have to speak to someone, that you just have to call them on the bus on the way home? What did you do before cell phones? Can't you simply call before you leave work? Don't most of your friends and relatives know when you're generally home and they can call you afterward?
Yes, cell phones are fine for people who need to be contacted in the case of emergencies such as doctors, for real estate sales people, people that do a lot of driving in remote areas, your kids when they are out late or newly licensed, but otherwise, why the !@#*! do you NEED one? The rest of us are seriously tired of overhearing your arguments with your significant other, your itemized grocery list order, your battles with your dad, your appointments with your proctologist, ad infinitum. We are bored and annoyed with our personal spaces being invaded with phones ringing at public events. I paid for whatever entertainment I came to see and that does NOT include listening to the ''dulcet tones'' of your whining voice babbling loud enough for EVERYONE to hear.
The possibility of radiation damage to one's brain cells from cell usage (I don't know about you, but I need to keep the few I have left!) certainly doesn't make the idea of buying a cell phone the least attractive to me.
I think I have better things to do than to spend my time yapping with people I'm going to see in the next 30 minutes anyway, charging my cell, calling my provider with problems I'm having with my cell, carrying it in an already overfull purse, dropping it = replacing it and darn well paying through the roof for the privilege of doing so.
Amen.
