I have just purchased a DX6490 Kodak digital camera.
It has a very good lense and I like the camera very much.
It has a 38mm lense made by Schneider Kreuznatch in Germany.
No one I have found yet has anything in the 38mm size yet this lense is threaded for filters. The manufacturer has nothing on their website.
I contacted Kodak and they referred me to the website of rite2u.com and they show them but don't even have pictures or stock besides I live in Canada and they ship within the USA only.
My local camera shop who sell Kodak were astonished, when even they could get nothing, even from Kodak.
Had I known this before purchasing it would have certainly influenced my choice if I knew I would not be able to protect the lense.
www.dpreview.com had this one discussed. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/read_opinion_text.asp?prodkey=kodak_dx6490&opinion=18786
BUT an interesting problem is that with digital cameras, what you can do on the computer may be why you don't see big filter (if at all) offerings.

You will need a Lens Adapter and then you can attach 55mm filters. The Adapter will be available in April.
Also in April, there will be a Wide-Angle lens available.

Scroll down to the topic - "Lenses"
Looks like enough people squawked and got Kodak's attention.
