What cars do I drive

by graham_346 - 2/17/06 2:20 PM In reply to: What do you currently drive--and what make and model? by Marc Bennett Moderator

The 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid replaced the 2004 version. It is much larger, more efficient and has beter gas consumption.

Ford Explorer XLS 2002

by deebeefc - 2/17/06 4:45 PM In reply to: What do you currently drive--and what make and model? by Marc Bennett Moderator

This is actually my husband's car. We bought it used from the dealer (Drew Ford in La Mesa, CA) and it has been 100% reliable. It's comfortable and handles well. Can't ask for more than that. The gas mileage stinks but the car is totally responsive and since we don't drive it very much, no problem.

Ford Explorer XLS 2002 (2)

by robertcarr24 - 12/4/07 5:50 PM In reply to: Ford Explorer XLS 2002 by deebeefc

We also have the same. 2002 Ford Explorer XLS and recently, the power windows have been breaking for some reason. We are now down to 2 windows being able to work. The 2 front windows which are the drivers and the passengers windows broke. So now only the 2 windows in the back seat work. I don't know what happened. I was just driving one day and the drivers window just out of know where went down. Then today, i was driving and the passenger side window went down. I had to actually open up the inside of the door, and make the windows stay up with a piece of wood. The motors are still working, it's just when i switch the switches, it make a cracking noise like plastic breaking. I don't know what happened. Now i'm gonna see if i can order some part from the ford parts web site and see if i can fix it myself.

Why do you only ask about minivans? There are other very nice vans out that are not MiniVans. Ford has a wonderful Windstar van and I have owned mine since 2001 and have never had a problem with it. I do link antiquie cars and have a 1959 Thunderbird Convertible however and I agree with you. They do not make cars now like they did in my younger years.

It is an awesome car. Fast. Well made. Smooth and a terrific sound system (Bose).
I would recommend it.

Infiniti QX4

by arschna - 2/18/06 4:00 AM In reply to: What do you currently drive--and what make and model? by Marc Bennett Moderator

Couldn't be happier -- looks to kill, not a oversized yacht, handles great in snow, lots of cargo room, just runs and runs and runs. Infiniti made a real mistake by going to the bloated QX54...everyone wants the QX$ workhores back -- and don't say that the murano is an SUV! ......

2002 Hyundai Sonata GLS

by Greywethr - 2/18/06 9:25 AM In reply to: What do you currently drive--and what make and model? by Marc Bennett Moderator

SWEET ride. GLS is Grand Luxury Sport, and it fits. Nice pick-up with 6 cyl., and the ride is smooth at all speeds. It looks like a Jaguar x-type! I bought it 2/19/05 for only $10,000 with only 29,000 miles on it! Fantastic deal; no problems with this car AT ALL. And guess what, the warranty beats anything and everything any & all American cars offer. How can I lose?

What do you currently drive

by somhay - 2/18/06 11:37 AM In reply to: What do you currently drive--and what make and model? by Marc Bennett Moderator

2003 Chrysler Voyger (Large Van - made in Austria and imported Right Hand Drive for Australia)

This is my 2nd one. The first I hit a Kangaroo with it and after a year or so, traded it in on a new and more luxurious model.

Would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone. It is adaptable with being able to remove the middle and rear seats, as well as having the power (3 litre V-6) to get me out of trouble on the odd occasion when I find myself out in the danger (passing) area.

My wife and I are now driving our 5th and 6th Honda Accords

by Fred Keen - 2/18/06 2:12 PM In reply to: What do you currently drive--and what make and model? by Marc Bennett Moderator

My first Honda was the first model Accord Hatchback imported into the US. It was running perfectly until it was totaled with 97,000 miles on the OD by an a driver that skidded into it in a snowstorm. All of our other Accords were over ten years old when we retired them.

The only time one of my Hondas broke down on the road it had over 90,000 miles on it when an ignition part called the "igniter" gave out. Even though the car was past its warranty period Honda USA paid for towing and replaced the igniter at no charge. They said it was a part that should not normally fail. I have heard stories about Rolls Royce doing similar things - but you pay a lot more for a Rolls Royce and I don't even know if those stories are fact.
