ATI Radeon X700 Pro...

by HKPK_2005 - 1/24/06 6:03 PM

I saw this card on sale at CompUSA for a hundred bucks after rebates, and it was sold out on the first day. I'm wondering if this card is even that great, I mean is it like better than the 9800 pro? I'm wondering if the X700 Pro is even considered a gaming graphic card at all......

NEWEGG HAS THEM FOR $99 NET OF REBATE.

I like the 8 pipes and the +400clock.

There are a couple more expensive boards with 600 or 1000 clock speed if you need. The extreme higher speed units seem to have integration issues or powersupply issues. Do a little research on the ATI or Nvidia forums and you will get details galore.

I have this card and feel its unstable, I have alittle heat issue and it will go on the blink also when I add anything significant like an extra Hardrive it will go on the blink. Any unstableness and it is the first item to act up., This is my oppion, but I have heard from tech folks that don't seem to like this board a whole lot either. But I must say it still works after a year and 100 dollars is a cheap price to pay as I paid 179 dollars on sale.

unstable?

how is it unstable? could be just my config but i've been running one of these cards since i built my cmoputer early last year and i've had no problems with it at all. though could be possible too that it is just a heat thing as my case runs fairly cool. the thermometer in my case says the ambient air is about 78F in there right now.
