It's always fun to read the naysayers when we will have 4 years of "living it" in just another month.
I'm sort of lieing about this. I have to steal it from my wife to drive it. My car is the 2000 Honda Odyssey which is nice, but I steal the Civic Hybrid every time.

It is fun and a blast to drive. With a few added modifications it's even better.
Nothing an long quiet road, where speed is what you need.

Yes, I love Station wagons. So the 5 liter V8 isn't the best on fuel, I dont really care. It's the best car for my job. (Janitor for resturants) I can leave all of my equipment in my car and still have room to transport myself, my wife and 3 kids. I tried to do that with my last car, a chevy Impala, and had to leave either the stuff at home, or leave the kids at home. P.S Yes It gets about 20 MPG, thats about $35 per tank. Oh well.
Best truck I ever owed, driven, or could dream of.
My son and two others with 2002 F-150 HD's had the supercharger blow their engines out in the exact identical way. I don't blame the dealership but all three vehicles were from the same one. So how many others are there out there? You mentioned modifications. Ford denied fixing my son's truck under warranty because of a minor after market add on to the engine. They made him go to arbitration, he won, arbitrator stated that 'the aftermarket part was not the cause'. Meanwhile 9 months had gone by, depreciation, warranty, loss of use. Just gets it back transmission goes out. Ford forces him to arbitration because he had added 'that' aftermarket part! Further they told him that regardless of what kind of a repair that might be needed in the future he would have to go to arbitration. This is still going on. My F-150 2X2 2001, transmission went out. My 2004 4X4 the brakes. F-150 below average average in reliability- CR, but I didn't know this when I bought. BTW my son had recently worked for the dealership and left on very good terms. Good luck!
I'm really jealous of your truck, i've wanted one of those since they first came out. I have had my eye on a f150 lighting for the longest time but they cost to much and even when i do find one in my price range its been through the ringer a few times... I would like to get a new one.. but i guess i'll have to stick with an old one and fix it up? ahahah i don't know but i'm jealous! Enjoy!

Ranger 05 Edge.
We also have a 05 Civic Hybrid, and just love it. Sometimes I have to do a double take when I look at the gas gauge it just doesn't want to go down. On a trip over into Ohio we got 58.6 MPG. Here in Pa. with all the hills it's around 43 to 45 MPG.
Our other vehicle is a Dodge Durango that we pull our travel trailer with. Yes, we also love the Durango. No it's not as good on gas.LOL

The last two new cars in my house were Subarus, with the best quality and dealer service you can imagene. But the AWD was costing me lot of gas for the few days a year I really need it, so a month ago, I happened to walk in one of the local Ford dealers they day they got a 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid. Sold!!
I love my Escape, and the way I sit up in it, and the challenge is to see how far I can go on the batteries. I used to get 12-14 MPG using premium grade gas and filling up weekly, now I top off the tank once a week with an average of 5.5 gallons of regular, driving the same course. Now I spend $12 a week vs. $30 with the AWD Subaru Forester. I concede I gave up quality and options for the new technology

I currently drive a 2003 Toyota Camry XLE. I love the car. I've had it for more than 2 years, and haven't seen or driven in another car that I would trade it for. I plan on keeping this car for at least 13 years which is how long I drove my 1991 Honda CRX.
