Wirefly Phone Rebates

by DON.Kay - 2/10/06 12:18 PM

Am I in for a problem? I mailed 2 rebate forms to White Bear Lake, MN55110 on 01/04/2006. They were signed for in Phoenix, AZ85072. Rebate website for Wirefly says 14-16 days after mail date the status of rebate claims will be posted. As of 02/10/2006 they are not posted. I get no answer to phone call or I receive voicemail with no callback.

Changed rebate centers

Hi DON.Kay - no need to worry. We switched rebate vendors last fall, and the rebate processing center in White Bear Lake is forwarding the Wirefly rebates to our new company in Arizona. It can take up to 4 weeks to get the claims in the system -- I'll see if I can get the 14-16 day estimate changed. (Can you tell me which site it said this on?).

Doreen Dennis - Please Help!!

by yragnirbis - 2/16/06 11:23 AM In reply to: Changed rebate centers by ddennis-from-wirefly

Doreen,

I'm waiting on two $180 rebates for a total of $360, the status on the website has been "We have received your submission and it is being processed.", since 11/18/2005. The reference numbers on the website are 65542189 and 65542190.

The rebate form says "This form will searve as your Rebate Authorization. You will receive a check for the amount of $180.00 within 150 days from your activation date or 10 weeks of our recept of your properly completed rebate request, whichever is later.

150 days from activaction is January 14th based on 08/17/2005 activation.

10 weeks from your receipt of my rebate is January 27th.

My rebate is now 3 weeks past due. I know you deny reabtes when someone missed the dates based on the terms of the rebate, why can't wirefly/inphonic honor their terms when someone dilegently follows the rebate process.

Please let me know when I can expect the checks, I really need the money.

Thanks for your help.

Can you help with denial of wirefly/inphonic rebate?

by mrping02 - 3/2/06 7:55 PM In reply to: Changed rebate centers by ddennis-from-wirefly

I am overwhelmed by the amount of people on multiple blogs that have had wirefly/inphonic rebate issues resulting in Wirfly losing its BBB status. I too, just found out I was denied. I just checked my status and it says my submissions for $200 in cell phone rebates were rejected. I submited my claim at the proper time, and with a printout of my verizon statement off the internet as I do not recieve paper bills. It really is a scam to deny a valid claim. The rebate processing companies changed as did the processing locations after my rebate forms were printed, (as I am sure you are aware) and my claim was forwarded from the address I originally submitted it to, to the new location in Arizona some 4 weeks later. When I called as it was not coming up on the site showing it was even recieved, I was told about the change in vendors and then also told the delay was due to the holidays and I have patiently waited to find out the reps are denying it anyways. I have read all the complaints on blogs by people saying how they were scammed, and I don't want to believe it is true, so how can I get someone to please straighten this out and just send me my rebates? Thanks, submission; Vincent-57402-414 dept 063241

You are on the same dead-end road as thousands of others!

You were smart to get a signature but your experience matches mine and many, many others. If you are lucky, you will get one rebate. Your inquiries will likely be met with denials, deflections, and delays.

You have already seen the first lie..."We don't have your rebates because we changed rebate processors". There are more deflections in front of you.

Add my voice to the thousands who have been scammed by Wirefly. I can't wait to get on the class action bandwagon once the attorneys get going on this one!

Good luck.

thousands?

The "thousands" who have been scammed, wwwaverider? Can you document that? I see a couple dozen here on these forums...

But bizrate.com, on the other hand, gives Wirefly a decent review:

Just trying to bring balance to this monster topic.

At least!!!

I appreciate the effort to try and moderate hyperbole...I really do. I am not one to exaggerate and tend to be understated, generally.

No I have not documented the numbers - that is not my concern. But I think the word "thousands" is probably conservative, based on simple statistical sampling methods:
a) This is only one of MANY such forums available to consumers.
b) The dozens of current posts here are only days old. Many older posts have been archived or deleted.
c) If you had been victimized by the Inphonic processes as those of us who have experienced their treatment can attest, you too would find it easy to accept the idea that their business practices are far less than ethical.

I will continue to pursue the legal settlement avenues available to me. I have already spent way more time on this matter than a missing couple of hundred dollars would justify, but there is a principal involved when it comes to matters of corporate greed. Inphonic and its' executives are on the same path as others who are now in prison or on their way. Lining one's pockets through fraudulent business practices is criminal, and criminals deserve to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Buyers beware!!!

Wirefly rebate fraud

by dianelynnh - 3/9/06 1:42 PM In reply to: You are on the same dead-end road as thousands of others! by wwwaverider

Why is it that this website (cnet.com) is a source of information, yet promotes Wirefly, a company quite well known for its theivery and rebate fraud?

This website has no true resourceful value.
