Running a gigabyte K8N Pro SLI Mobo with a FX 60 processor.. Had no** problems, until** I was defraging my 80G HD, (games HD) while doing this I thought "hey" I'll test the "easy tune 5" out, poped the processor up from 2.6 to 2.7 1/2 and let it run... it went to a blue screen with a centered white word, Im not sure if this was the blue screen of death or not??? but it reset and upon re-loading, it firstly doesnt recognize my two "storage HD's", however the C: drive (2 WD Raptors in raid) works fine, It gets me to the first page where you click your name to enter windows, begins loading and hangs up... the mouse will not move period until you restart. (The pointer hangs ater a cpl of programs begin loading a freezes with the pointer stuck with the hour glass)!!!!
there are the "beeps"during the begging of oading windows, which according to gigabyte meansproblems
with the base 64 memory...
What do I do!! Just got this built and the FX 60 should* have noproblems with a "safe mode" OC...???
PLEASE HELP =P
If it is new, I'd take it back and have them fix it correctly.
1. Never, ever, do anything else while defragging.
2. Reset whatever you did with Easy Tune, in the BIOS.
3. Run sfc /scannow with your Windows disk in CD Drive.
Is there a way to run that command before the computer freezes? (The easy tune 5) that comes with the Mobo is a program that is set to run *only* during that session, in other words it doesnt stay in bios to change...
And for some reason I cant get to safe mode with F8 =/
I tried starting windows, got to the first few programs loading, and was able to enter in the command you listed, had to restart and with the command in the line iran it, i popped p with verifiying files etc, but win xp freezes before it can excute... =/
Any other options?
You'll have to swap out RAM, motherboard, power supply and possibly the CPU to cure this one.
If there is a BIOS update, that may address support of more memory makers, but some are skittish about that.
The FOUR PARTS I listed are all I've ever had to swap out in fixing the beep-beep base 64 memory issue.

1.Pull out the power cord.
2.Take out the battery.
3.Set your computer in a corner for two weeks.
4.Put it back togather and go.
-OR-
Yank the power cord out when booting up. leave it unhooked for a minute. That occasionally get you to the safe-mode screen when you start back up.
