I am looking for suggestions. Any comments, recommendations, critiques, etc., will be gratefully accepted.

I suggest that you install the dictionaries first. Then the "front end" version.
You will be installing spellbound version 0.7.3 and the dictionary version Mozilla Spellcheck Libraries 1.0.1.0
with it's performance. I previously used IE Spell (when I used to use IE).
I find that it often asks you to change spelling of a word that is spelled exactly the same as their suggested spelling!! Lost time.
It also seems to often lack any suggested replacements, especially if word is severely mis-spelled. I suspect it simply can't guess what your word is. frequently its alternatives have no similarity to the meaning of the word highlighted. It, at least does work and it intended for Moz/FF.
In most cases IE Spell was much superior but.....not for FF. Enjoy!! ![]()
the Google toolbar for firefox - http://toolbar.google.com/firefox/
I decided on the Google toolbar. It seems to have some other useful options.
BTW, I tried it for the fist time on this message. It works fine as it caught one of my common mistakes. (usefull instead of useful. I never can get the correct number of L's right)
Thanks again

I have the Google toolbar but for spell checking, Spellbound is indeed much nicer and quicker.

except for the spellcheck feature almost everything it offers is already built in to Firefox, including a "toolbar" for google or any other search engine you prefer!
While the bult-in search bar (some mistakenly call it a ''Google Search Bar'') is great for use with Google and oodles of other search engines, all it does is basic search.
The Google Toolbar (and the Yahoo! toolbar) give you easy and quick access to more services and custom searches.
Image searches for example. Yes you can add ''Google Images'' or ''Yahoo Images'' to the Firefox search bar, but it's not as convenient as having the dedicated search toolbars from the likes of Google and Yahoo!
The website you linked to has nothing to do with Firefox or browsers in general. (It's your friends' site dedicated to anime.) Since advertisements are prohibited by the forum policies, I have deleted your post. Please keep this in mind for future reference.

Spellbound and the Google Toolbar are both good spell checkers, but a great light-wieght one is the RiteOfTongue extension available at
http://hashcolouredtabs.mozdev.org/riteoftongue/
It lets you right click on a word and quickly see if it's spelled correctly. If not, it offers possible suggestions.
