Should a desktop PC be left powered on constantly?

by Destroyer250 - 1/12/06 2:09 PM

I tend to leave my desktop machine powered on for long periods of time without using it. Is this bad? Good?

I have a windows xp, dell dimension p4.

Does brand of processor (or Apple) have an impact.

Hardware is not really a consideration

for leaving it on or off because they are basically all the same. My grand daughters computer stays on 24/7 and is 6 years old. All mine are turned off each night at bedtime and on again in the morning, Just a matter of choice i think. you will get more opinions on this!!.
