I have disabled all non-microsoft programs at boot. (A trick a learn't when I got my MS Cert. Pro). I have tried scf /scannow, however it won't work as I have a "gold" SP1a CD not a SP2.
And sfc may not fix the problem. I can't slipstream a SP2 cd as this box I am working on, by policy I cannot use other "stuff" from other systems. (Security Reasons) I hope you understand why.
