My laptop is getting old and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a new one. I'm looking for something slim, cool looking, but not too old, or expensive. Maybe something that's been out for a while that has gone down in price? Thanks!
Its hard to make a suggestion if you don't give a specific price range.
A few days ago CompUSA had a Compaq Notebook for $499. It only had 256 MB of RAM but that can be easily & cheaply upgraded. It also only had Windows XP Home, which may or may not be an issue for you...it would for me.
Dell also has decent spec laptops for under $600. The only thing I would suggest is upgrading the RAM from the basic 256 MB to at the least 512 MB.
We've recently run a number of articles on inexpensive laptops. Check them out:

Good luck!
