I recently bought an MSI K8MM-V Motherboard.
I replaced my old motherboard and fitted wires and hardware etc. When I boot up the PC it doesn't detect the moniter, I have tried using a different moniter and a Geforce video card, but nothing helps. The moniter does work though.
I think I have plugged everything in correctly, any help would be great!
Please help.
Let's get back to basics, does the power supply turn on? If yes, what makes you say Yes?
New mobo in old case gives rise to all kinds of potential problems, [shorts due to left over hex standoffs etc]. Why not remove the mobo from the case, set it up on a big sheet of cardboard and build it up one step at a time. The mobo with nothing plugged in except the power supply connectors [no CPU/HSF, memory, video, mouse keyboard should power up if one simply uses a small slot screwdriver to momentarily short the power on mobo pins together. Can't get that far, anything more is a waste of time.
The reverse assembly theory always works for me.
Is this the same type motherboad that you had before. If not and you try to boot to new type MB with hard drive that was used before not sure that would work.Try boot with a bootable floppy or cd.
