I have th is dvd player and now it will not play cds. I can burn a dvd or watch a movie. It doesnt even seem to recognize a cd. The problem started last night when I burned a couple of cds and the drawer would not open even when told to eject. Then I fooled around with stuff and now it is worse.
I use Nero, Real One player and Windows Media Player with no luck.I have and IBM clone computer with Windows XP home edition

I have been using this rewriter now for months with no problems at all then for no forseeable reason it stops reading all cd's.
it still reads and rewrites dvd's as it did before but it just does not see a cd at all.
i too would welcome any help as i have reinstalled and checked everything i can think of.
Re: try a different drive to start with.
