I recently tried to purchase a Verizon Razr phone and was talked out of it by the Verzion sales rep. He told me the battery is awful. He said even with average talk time on the phone, people were returning them left and right, saying they were recharding the battery at least once a day.
Has anyone else experienced this?
VZW would not take my phone back because I had alreday mailed in the $100 rebate certificate.
I then tried to get a new/additional battery out of Verizon.
To make a long story short, call 1-800-657-8909 to get to Motorola's Razr Hotline. I got this number from a VZW tech support person who told me that she called the number and Motorola agreed to send me a new battery.
Be persistent, the first two people couldn't help me (one was based in Canada and couldn't process U.S. orders). Then I spoke to someone who refused to send me a replacement battery and said Verizon should be responsible. After getting disconnected from her, I called again and the person I spoke to immediately begain processing my request for a new battery.
Here is how it works: You give them mailing address and credit card number. They send you a new battery. You then send them back the old battery. If you do not return it, they charge your credit card.
Seems fair to me. Now let's hope that the problem actually is the battery and not the phone.
