HELP - Creative Zen Micro through wash

by cman200 - 11/21/05 11:24 PM

About 24 hours ago my precious zen micro went through the wash.(Not the dryer) I noticed that blue crust on the battery, so that might be the only problem. I don't have another one to try. Is there anything I can do or need I cough up another 2 bills to Creative Labs for another one?

Sure, but you may be out of luck...

For the hard drive... cross your fingers and hope that water hasn't found its way inside.

For the battery... use baking soda on a rag to rub off the minor corrosion. Use sandpaper or a file to scrape off the particularly bad corrosion.

For the electronics, swab them with electronics-grade isopropyl alcohol.

Once you've cleaned the whole thing up, make sure it's absolutely bone dry before trying to turn it on again.
