Does anyone know any information about the cingular 2125 and cingular 8125?
thanks
The 2125 appears to be an upgrade of the Audiovox SMT5600
Definitely an upgrade of the excellent 5600. I only wish it looked better. Also they switched to a joystick instead of the excellent center nav button on the original. ![]()
looks like a great phone. saw for 149 at radioshack.com

I received confirmation today (dec. 20) from a regional Cingular Public Relations person that the 8125 has been postponed until Feb.1.
thank you for the information. i really hope that this is not true because i really want to purchase this phone.
Any updates on whether the Cingular 8125 will be available on Feb 1st ??
I've read on another board that Best Buy now has the 8125 in their system, due for a Jan 29th release. Price (tentatively) without contract: $499.99
I've already broken down and gotten a Treo 650 because I couldn't wait any longer due to the need at work.
Cingular 8125 released as of Feb 6th for B2B accounts only.
With corporate discount I paid US$264.00 + tax

Happy with the new phone?
From the specs, it looks like there is no GPS. Never had one & thought it might be fun. Looks like it has everything else. Anything missing that you wish it had?

I have only rated the features that I have used and there are many I have not used.
In summary I think overall this is a great phone with the only drawbacks being the slow processor and the slow cingular data services. Hopefully cingular can work on the data service speed. Still it has proved very valuable tool. It almost has the feel of a micro laptop.
Hope that helps. Also some people report that they have bought the phone for around $175 after B2B discounts, 2yr contract and rebates, making this phone extremely affordable considering all the feature it packs.
Thanks for the review. Very helpful.
I have been having a horrible time trying to get ring tones. It says you can have music tones but when I select my phone and purchase them the link they send in a text message is not found. Is this an issue with the phone and has anyone else came in to this problem. I love the phone just not the ringers... I think the picture color could use a bit more quality but all in all the phone is very much worth it to a person that is always at their computer because this phone will do anything my computer will do...
you can make regular songs your ringtone. If you have your device synced to your computer open active sync. From active sync go to tools/explore pocket pc. Do this twice. Now on one of the windows go to my windows mobile based device/music and find the song you would like to make a ringtone. On the other opened window go to my windows mobile based device/application data/sounds. Drag the song from the music folder to this sound folder and the song will appear as a ringtone.
