Does the Razr V3 sync with outlook?

by msk6261 - 12/7/05 10:56 PM

I've had so much mixed information, I'm not sure what's true. My new Razr is on the way from cingular & I need to know if it will come with software to sync with outlook or I need to by that seperately.
Does it sync with a different personal management software (contacts and calender)?
If it's an aftermarket thing, which is best? Can I install activsync on the phone??

Yes

I believe you need the USB cable and sync software. The USB cable also charges your phone. There's also a Bluetooth sync as well. I just got my Razr from Verizon, so I can't comment on how well this works because I don't have the cable yet.

Sync cable V3 RAZR

An ordinary mini-USB cable (like you use for downloading pictures from a digital camera) works with mPT 3.0 (Cingular).

Have you tried it yet?

Hi there,
Have you tried synching your verizon razr with Outlook 2003 yet? I saw someone post a note saying they used a bluetooth USB adapter to sync rather than a cable. http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/detail~dpno~261246.asp

Not if you got it from Verizon!

This is from Motorola's website:

Mobile PhoneTools version 3.0 software CD
SKU: SVN5000E

Not compatible with Verizon service at this time. Please check back soon for a Verizon-compatible version.

I've purchased the Moble Action Data Suite For Motorola V3. I was told it's more comprehensive.
I'll let you know how it works.

I'm considering purchasing a razr but just have to have it sync with Outlook 2003. Did it work for you?

Works fine - I have Outlook 2003 and Motorola Phone Tools (formerly Mobile Phone Tools) version 4.

That's great! Were you able to sync your calendar and email as well as contacts?

OL 2003 freezing?

by ladysmanmn - 10/29/06 7:03 PM In reply to: OL 2003 <=> V3 RAZR by flapeyre

hey, when I use Motorola Phone tools version 4.0 and I use the calender part, every time I open outlook, the program freezes and I have to close out. Do you any idea of why this happens?

Mobile Action Data Suite for V3 does not work!

by msk6261 - 1/11/06 8:55 PM In reply to: Syncing the razr by msk6261

This product is no good. It does not sync outlook's calender and contacts with this phone and the other features such as songs and games are really "cheesy." I've returned it and am awaiting the Motorola Phone tools. I'll try that next.

OK Mot. Phone Tools kind of works.....

I received the 3.0 disk today. Installed it and had a bit of a time finding 3.28 to upgrade to but it's done. I was able to sync my contacts and calender but I have to say.......this is nothing like the userface I had with my MPX 200 smartphone. It was a incredibly easy to find all my info (complete address book and my daily calender would show on the main menu screen).
I'm happy with the phone in many respects but the software on the V3 is definitely not as user friendly. I guess I still need to work out the kinks.
