RIPPED OFF BY WIREFLY 150 BUCKS

by irwin_lbc - 10/10/06 11:37 PM In reply to: getting nervous about my Wirefly rebate by bruno333

I GOT THIS PHONE IN FEB 2006 AND I NEVER RECEIVED MY MONEY BACK FROM WIREFLY. I KNOW I SENT EVERYTHING THEY ASKED FOR TO THE TEETH. THIS IS NOT GOOD BUSINESS AND I THINK IT MAKES T-MOBILE LOOK BAD TOO...

you could be worse off :)

I've was ripped off $300 way back in early 2005-two rebates for $150 each. Doreen Dennis told me that one of them was being reprocessed, the other one was just LOST and they wouldnt do anything about it. Well, its been several months since that rebate was supposedly re-processed but no check came. I've given up any hope of getting that $300 back.

I think InPhony/WireFraud has actually given up on the Cnet forums too. I dont see any more messages from them lately. Maybe because theyre too busy preparing to defend themselves in court?

Rebates

by TooAngry - 11/29/05 12:26 PM In reply to: Did you receive Rebate (s) ? by CNET 4 HELP

Don't hold your breath. Never got either one of the two rebates and just like most people reporting on this sight, they use various reasons for not complying i.e. not timely, correct info not sent, etc. A total scam. What I found interesting is that the Better Business Bureau is not getting that many complaints on them and still rates them as suitable. Even CNET rates them as an OK vendor. Unfortunately, we consumers lose and nothing changes. I'm just trying to put the word out on every complaint forum I can find and hope that I save one person from getting screwed. I did lodge a complaint with Verizon and they said that if they get enough complaints they will end the reseller relationship with them, so at the very least everyone should take that route and report them to their carriers. They will have more pull than us. Sorry that you too are in the fray but a small consolation is that we feel better that we weren't the only ones stupid enough to get roped in. Sad that we can't stop them! Too Angry

"Sad that we can't stop them!" Sorry, you might not be able to stop them, but many of us will!

rebates

by bugmenotcnet - 12/6/05 3:25 PM In reply to: Rebates by TooAngry

They've had my rebate applications since mid October and they are still listed as "being processed".
I've emailed over and over again - not one darn response.
Tomorrow, I start calling... and I will be a MAJOR PITA. If I don't get satisfaction tomorrow, I will be filing complaints with BBB and Verizon and I won't stop until they are banned from doing business with Verizon, if not everyone...
CNET and BBB should be ashamed of themselves for having these rip-off artists listed as anything less then SCAMSTERS!

Rebates

by jessiebela - 12/6/05 10:22 PM In reply to: rebates by bugmenotcnet

In response to below message: Verizon knows very well what Wirefly is doing- but hey, they want new clients, so they pretend to be stupid... I will file a law suit against Wirefly and verizon! Verizon knew about Wirefly's business and did not advised me when they could, as Verizon had to check my credit and had a chance...because they knew very well i was going to do business with this fraudulent co., Wirefly. When Verizon called me to verify i was the person aplying for an account with verizon...they ahd a chance to let me know...hey i am not the only one complaining!!!!! Verizon is acomplice with Wirefly and will go down with them and any other cellphone company doing business with Wirefly...

well

with a processing time of 10 - 12 weeks on these rebates it's no suprise they are in process since october.

also there are many things that could be delaying them.

for example... were there any errors on your rebates?
did you change your phone service or number?

were all your bills paid in full on time?

Loyalty & customer appreciation rebates (Verizon)

by TooAngry - 1/27/06 9:44 PM In reply to: Did you receive Rebate (s) ? by CNET 4 HELP

Had exactly the same rebates. The advice: MAKE ABSOLUTELY sure that you follow instructions to the letter, (close does not count and file toward the beginning of the 180 day period rather than at the end of the 210 days). Mail certified with a return receipt and keep copies of everything. Start now and check that you have all documentation that you will need so that if you're missing something you have time to complain and will set up a trail to support your steps. Even if you do all of the above you can get caught in a web of excuses but if you document as carefully as I'm advising you, at least will be in a position to take them on later. Good luck and hopefully you'll prevail.

inphonic/A-1 Wireless Rebates

by TCassidy - 2/14/06 4:26 PM In reply to: Did you receive Rebate (s) ? by CNET 4 HELP

Go to Largo Md , Better Business Bureau web site and file a complaint.

I purchased phones and they did not come with rebate forms as was told when purchased. Had to download when their site was fixed. Now am trying to obtain rebates as customer appreciation for two phones $500.00. HAVING TROUBLE>

They want the second billing paid in full, however they mailed me phones with downloads and thus I was billed the first bill, and had to settle this with T-Mobile.

Did you get scammed by Inphonics, too?

by lonnie74 - 1/26/06 9:25 AM In reply to: Re: Poor customer support from Inphonic.com/Wirefly.com by gcsadoti

SCAMMED BY INPHONICS / WIRELESS WORLD / WIRELFLY / CELLULAR CHOICE?

I was also scammed by Inphonics (dba Wireless World, Wirefly, Cellular Choice, etc). Their websites are so good you wouldn't expect them to be such a scam. But they are not going to get away with it! Please help bring these folks to justice by sharing your story with me so we can go after these folks in court. Your story will remain confidential. Please contact me at inphonics_scam@igc.org As long as we remain silent, these guys will get away with this.
