Does anyone know what phones are being released for Verizon Wireless in the last quarter of 05 and the spring quarter of 06 (December 05-January 06)? I'm in field for a new phone and I'm wondering whether I should go for a current Verizon phone or wait until after Christmas/New Years in hopes of some new and innovative phones to come out. Does anyone know of anything besides the 1.3 megapixel razr v3c possibility?
I am in the same position. I know that in the last quarter Nokia 6256i for verizon (but who knows )
is supposed to be released. The people that have it already (purchased from the net) love it. It is expensive and has many features. The only one I really am interested in is reception. I want another tri-mode phone like my Nokia. My phone never drops a call that includes the time I was in Fl in a category 3 hurricane
directly overhead. The 6256i is a tri-ode.
Another phone that has good reviews for reception
is the tri-mode v276 motorola. Check with some of the forums on phone reception. Verizon has slim pickings for nokia. Tri-modes are better than digitals at this
time. they cover digital bands 850/1900 CDMA and AMPS
850 analog so you can't go wrong.
I've also been trying to find out about new Verizon phones coming out soon. So far this is all I've found:
-BlackBerry 7130 (Just came out)
-RAZR V3c (like you said before)
-XV6700 (aka HTC Apache)
-Treo 700w
For the scoop on upcoming Sprint phones, sprintusers.com is great. I haven't been able to find a similar resource for upcoming Verizon releases. Anyone have any suggestions?
BlackBerry 7130 (Just came out) - currently available to biz customers, but supposedly available to regular consumers on 12/1.
RAZR V3c (like you said before) - due out 12/12
XV6700 (aka HTC Apache) - hopefully out before Christmas, but a lot of information is pointing to 1st Quarter 2006. Any solid information would be greatly appreciated though.
Treo 700w - Definitely out EARLY 1st Quarter according to the original press release, but who really cares anyway. If I want a Palm, I'll get a Palm, but I don't so this doesn't change anything. That would be like having a Mac powered Dell. Stupid.
How'd you find the date for the Razr? I've been looking everywhere but only came up with Nov. 28, which is today.Grr, hopefully I'll find out soon.
i will probably get one

Does the Ravr have good reception and sound, oh ya and battery life?????
From what I've been reading:
#1 It comes out tomorrow (12/7) on an online-exclusive offer...12/12 in stores. it has a built in antenna (at the bottom under the microphone) for supposedly superb reception, sound on speakerphone is office quality and battery life is 180 minutes talk time, or up to 200 hours stand by time. Excellent =)
In case you haven't seen this:

And this guy is seriously the authority, or actually our inside ears to Verizon's inner-workings:

He's been dead on with everything, even my case with the XV6700, unfortunately I didn't really like his response. At least you know when you'll be getting your Razr, and apparently it's going to be the last Verizon phone release in 2005.
Anybody know when/if Cingular will have a phone similar to the XV6700 from Verizon or the PPC6700 from Sprint?
I don't know the exact date for the GSM Apache(aka Wizard), but I know there are some differences:
1. Slower processor
2. Smaller keyboard buttons
3. No external antenna
you might want to check out PhoneScoop.com, pdaphonehome.com, and howardforums.com
I am looking to upgrade my phone in early January. Currently I have the Audiovox CDM-8900. I have had good success with this phone. Much better than my sister and her LG-6000 (it sucks). I am looking for a compact camera phone with good reception. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Also, I have always gone tri-mode in the past. I live in the Kansas City area, but like to have the tri-mode on vacations and such. I'm not sure what the impacts would be if I went all digital. Does the all-digital phone work on the "Extended Network" as well? I orginally thought that the all digital phone was the old dual-mode phone, but now I'm not quite sure. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I was told by verizon customer service the the razr will be online December 7th and in stores December 12th.
The price was $499 w/o contract and $299 with a 2 year contract.
