There are numerous concerns about the Nano on three specific areas:
1. The clear coating that they have on it scratches even with the greatest of care.
2. The player is somewhat fragile and tends to crack.
3. There are some question marks about battery life.
Kind of puzzling why Apple marketed the Nano to replace the Ipod Mini Second Generation. IMO, the Mini occupied a totally different nitch, (mini disks in the 4-6 gigs range). In fact, there have been numerous complaints about Apple's decision to pull the Mini out of the market and replace it with the Nano. The Nano is new, and has a shine appeal to it, but it tends to wear off quickly. Now... if Apple can produce Nanos in the 4-6 Gig range, that is another story. But at this time, Apple has a huge hole that is not being filled in it's product line.
The Nano, IMO, is a far better replacement for the Ipod Shuffle.
