What is the difference in the Philips 42PF7220A (sold by Costco) and the 42PF7320A? I asked Philips this question but they were not kind enough to give me an answer. Any help you all can give me would be greatly appreciated.

There are a couple of things.
One is that the 42PF7220A is last years model. Costtco just bought a big lot of them and selling at a low cost.
Sometimes a big out fit like Costco will have s special model# made for them.
Just compare the specs. John

John,
Thanks for the info. So... I assume that means the 42PF7220A (sold by Costco) has a few less features. I compared the models on the Philips website and the specs appear to be identical however the 42PF7220A looks like it is only sold in the US and Mexico. I think for $100-$200 I would rather go with the newer model if I decide on the Philips. I really like the new Sony XBR's but then we are talking about a lot more $'s.
Thanks again for your help:)

jus got my new philips plasma 42pf7320a after months of research and price comparison, specs/features..etc. So far, this tv has similar features to 42pf9630a with ambilight...if you like some extra flashing background lighting..expect to pay few hundred dollars for the feature. Also, Im concerned about this ambilight feature 'coz I've seen at 3 Fry's electronics stores some open box unit for a $1000.00 less, with the same problem..malfunction with ambilight and the lcd tv was a discontinued model....also lcd tv this size is too expensive!!!
Seen on display at circuit city..side by side(42pf7320a - 42pf9630a w/ ambilight) and decided to go for the model without ambilight. I need to save some extra bucks for HDMI cable, Sanus VMSA wall mounting bracket and a new dvd player with HDMI output. Currently on sale at Sears for $2089.00 'til 11/23 and circuit city price match it with 110% so I got a good deal, costco pricing is good..but you have to wait for your delivery...So far, Im enjoying the awesome picture this plasma TV can deliver for less..especially with the HDMI hook up...2 HDMI inputs is a must!!!! Sony XBR's are very good, but you will spend close to $4000.00 including your other gadgets....your eyes will tell the difference, but your budget will tell the truth...lol
Does the 42pf7320a have a onboard tuner for receiving over-the-air HDTV broadcasts? I can't seem to see anything that confirms that it has this feature. Are you still happy with the set?
Thanks,
Dave
We just bought the 220A from Costco after looking at that one and the 320 sold elsewhere. No difference as far as I can tell by asking around. I got a great deal on it, They were selling the floor model and I paid onlt $1599 for it. Cant find a better deal on a 42" HD plasma than that
Does the 7220A/37 have on screen volume display? How's the sound on that model?
