saving windows updates

by yardkatz - 11/20/05 6:22 AM

Is there a way to save/backup windows downloaded updates and reinstall them again? I mean I want to clean my hard drive and reinstall everything but it takes forever to download MS updates again. MS doesn't give an option to save to file when updating unfortunately. And where do the files go?

Burn to disc?

by chuckieu - 11/20/05 12:06 PM In reply to: saving windows updates by yardkatz

That is one of the main purposes of a cd/dvd burner. I
use a separate disc to burn Microsoft updates and list
what each is on the sleeve. Separate from my normal downloaded programs, that is. Actually, I keep a running set of 3 discs: Windows Updates, Windows downloaded programs, and Linux downloaded programs. Hope this helps.
