what should i get or which one is better a nano or zen? in terms of features design and value
I would recommend you the nano.
Its a bit expensive but the design and the bright color display are so good. The quality of the sound everthing it'S fantastic
But don't forget the nano is not for everyone
DAVID
It depends on what you want. If you have a bigger music library, a microdrive player like the Zen Micro is a good bet. If you want smaller size, a 2 gig flash player is a nice option. Personally, I would go with the Zen Micro since you get 2.5 times the memory at the same price, but it is considerably bulkier (though both are small).
If you decide on a 2 GB flash player, though, I would wait for the iAudio U3 rather than get the Nano. It's just as small and supplies you with video playback, photo viewing, FM tuner, voice recorder, greater battey life, support for more audio codecs, and a 1.1-inch color screen. And yes, 2 gigs of memory.
But price could be a factor too. I don't think the U3 will cost much more than the Nano, but it's pretty feature-packed, and you'd have to decide if you need the features enough to spend more money on them.
Hope this helps.
thank you, i have a small library of songs but it is growing i have about 300 songs taking up 1.5 gbs, but im leaning towards the micro because it has more space and it cost a little less, but im still not sure, i think i need more suggestions
The microdrive class of mp3 players has become somewhat small due to the Nano starting the whole 4-gig flash player thing.
If you want another suggestion for a microdrive player, you could get a Rio Carbon, which I have. It's very small, has great battery life, and is very easy to use. It's still one of the most stylish mp3 players around in my opinion. It doesn't have a lot of extra features, but it can be found very cheap (less than $150 from some places). However, it might not be a good choice since Rio went out of business and you probably wouldn't get a whole lot of support for it.
You could also go with an iPod Mini, but it's kinda dated now that the Nano's out, and Apple's replaced them with the Nano.
If you're looking at higher-capacity flash players, you could also go with SanDisk's new Sansa M200 series; they're supposed to be putting out 2 and 4 gig versions sometime, and they're very reasonably priced. The design is pretty dull, though.
I've had both the micro and nano. I strongly prefer the nano. Its easier to use, looks better, and the integration with Itunes is great. The nano also has a longer battery life. I'd pay the extra $50 for 4gb though.
Then, go for the Micro.
If your talking about craetive's fm forget it it is a worthless peice of dung i've ever had in a radio why not give a simpler way of downloading and no stupid radio your firmware sucks
If you really like the Zen Micro then you should get the Zen Micro Photo. Amazon is supposed to have them on Nov. 18, but you can already buy them on Creative's website and some others.
It has the color screen, and photo viewing that the nano has, but it is double the capacity (8gb for $249.99 vs. 4gb on the nano for the same price). And I hear that 6gb and 4gb versions will be coming out soon for $229.99 and $199.99.
Just a suggestion, I hope you find the right player for you.
The new micro photo is out on Best Buy's website, and since Creative products are 25% off there until the 19th, it's selling at $187... 8GB and a color screen on an already very solid product for that price is unreal...
It was a crazy deal it's normally $250 and it was $187!!!!!
Does it do Audible, too?
If you are looking for the initial "wow" factor, the Nano certainly makes an impression. Very pretty out of the box. It is also flash based, which obviously has it's advantage. Sound is decent, about what you would expect for an Apple product. If you have had an Apple MP3 player before, you will also find comfort with the familiar control set up. It is very functional and portable. It has about the same amount of issues with battery life and hardware as most other MP3 players. The two main complaints that I have heard about the Nano is that it scratches EXTREMELY easily and that it is very, very fragile. I have heard from users having their Nanos crack because they made the mistake of putting it in their pant pockets, (though for the life of me, I don't know why you would want to do that with something so darn thin).
On the other side, you have the Zen Micros. They come in a variety of colors, and they also have a high degree of "Wow" factor, specially in subdued light with it's background perimeter and touch pad blue glow. They are not as small or thin as the Nanos, but they are still light and small enough to carry around your neck on a lanyard. They are micro disk based, so they are not ideal for jogging, running, or anything that creates a lot of impact. On the other hand, they do have a larger capacity for music than the Nanos. Sound quality is superb, specially with a decent pair of ear buds, (this is also to be expected since the Micro is manufactured by Creative Lab who makes sound cards for electronic applications). They also have about the same type of issues as other MP3 players. The Micro's have had an issue with the headset jack plugs breaking. The word is that Creative took care of this issue this summer... we will see. The Micro also comes with features that the Nano doesn't have, (FM radio for example).
When comparing comments from users of both MP3 players, the Nano tends to be preferred by younger folks with a flair for the looks of the player, (at least before it scratches). Older users and users that place a greater premium on sound fidelity and sound quality seem to go with the Zen Micro.
The Nano certainly makes an initial impression. But the Zen Micro, IMO, gives you a lot more bang for the bucks, specially in terms of music fidelity, capacity, and overall use.
If you want something to just show your friends and try to fit in and be cool...choose the not too great Apple product. If you want an mp3 player thats designed by a company that leads the industry in sound cards and digital sound devices...go with the Zen micro. I may be wrong but i thought the purpose of an mp3 player was to LISTEN to music. Anyways its your call.
look at the new Zen MicroPhoto- I can guarantee it wont scratch as easily as the ipod- and Creative IMO has the best sound quality of them all.
