Apple powerbooks and web security

by Kuangkhot - 11/1/05 10:24 AM

Hi to all. I often use the net at work (on a PC) but a recently splashed out on an Apple Mac Powerbook for home use. I have not connected it to the web yet but some Mac users say you don't need much in terms of virus protection and others vehemently disagree.

What do I need for the Powerbook to keep the thing safe online?

Thanks

Firewall, virus protection software such as Virex, or Norton,.
I have been online [DSL] with a mac since 2001 this combination of firewall and anti-virus software on my laptops, plus always turn on security if your wireless through your router
