Add T-Mobile

by nikshere - 10/11/05 9:56 PM In reply to: Poor customer support from Inphonic.com/Wirefly.com by Stormie

Please add T-Mobile to this list, I have experienced the same problem wth round and round. The funniest part is they would put a voicemail in my voicemail box without calling! Terrible customer service and now I am blacklisted and they will not do anything for me. The BBB got me nowhere, except they have a negative mark now. I am now going to write the Consumer Divsion which is another good place in your area.

InPhonec and Internet Monopoly

by alfaorg - 10/14/05 10:56 AM In reply to: Poor customer support from Inphonic.com/Wirefly.com by Stormie

Between Dec 2004 and Jun 2005 InPhonic bought out most of the Internet Cellular Phones Service resellers on the INternet.
Right after that their customer service went straight to the bottom of acceptable.
All those Customer Loyalty mail in rebate are to redeem after 6 month in the hope that they will be lost or forgaten by than.
I wouldn’t buy again from them! EVER

You Guys Saved Me

by JC191482 - 10/23/05 5:34 AM In reply to: Poor customer support from Inphonic.com/Wirefly.com by Stormie

Good thing I saw this thread on CNET. I was minutes away from ordering 2 RAZR phones from them and saw that a lot of people have had problems with wirefly. Wirefly should realize that they should get their act together otherwise they won't last very long.

is lie about mail a federal crime?

by general123 - 10/27/05 9:44 AM In reply to: Poor customer support from Inphonic.com/Wirefly.com by Stormie

I think one of most use rejection reason by iphnoic /wirefly is lost rebate, wrong date, damage rebate. If they get the mail and claim it lost, or damage the rebate so don't have to honor it is that a federal crime?
any one who know a lawyer or can check with Postoffice general?

Internet Crime Complaint Center

by elvis68 - 10/27/05 10:08 AM In reply to: is lie about mail a federal crime? by general123

Anyone who believes they have fallen victim to Inphonic/Firefly, etc. should report this to the Internet Crime Complaint Center at

http://www.ic3.gov/

According to their website:
The Internet Fraud Complaint Center (IFCC) was established as a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) to serve as a means to receive Internet related criminal complaints, research, develop and refer the criminal complaints to law enforcement agencies for any investigation they deem to be appropriate. The IFCC was intended, and continues to emphasize serving the broader law enforcement community, to include federal, as well as state and local agencies, which are combating Internet crime and in many cases participating in Cyber Crime Task Forces.

Since its inception, the IFCC has received complaints crossing the spectrum of cyber crime matters, to include on-line fraud in its many forms, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) matters, Computer Intrusions (hacking), Economic Espionage (Theft of Trade Secrets), On-line Extortion, International Money Laundering, Identity Theft and a growing list of Internet facilitated crimes. Over the past three years it has become increasingly evident that, regardless of the label placed on a cyber crime matter, the potential for it to overlap with another referred matter is substantial. The IFCC is therefore being renamed the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), to better reflect the broad character of such matters having a cyber (Internet) nexus referred to the IC3, and to minimize the need for one to distinguish "Internet Fraud" from other potentially overlapping cyber crimes.

Boycott of all companies using Inphonic/Firefly/ETC

by elvis68 - 10/27/05 2:04 PM In reply to: Poor customer support from Inphonic.com/Wirefly.com by Stormie

After this painful lesson trying to get the rebates OWED me, and apart from contacting the BBB & ICCC, I have decided to no longer do business with any company that uses Inphonic's services. Unfortunately, this includes some companies that I used to enjoy purchasing from but, the only way to pressure them to stop using this shady company is to no longer purchase anything from them.

The companies I am aware of that use some version of Inphonic:

Buy.com
Treocentral.com
Radio Shack

Please let me know of others so I can mark them off my list of places I will no longer shop at until the fire Inphonic.

They have added a funny poll to http://www.wirefly-rebate.com/ allowing you to vote on the faux-rejection reason given by Inphonic/Wirefly.

Inphonic does suck

by Mr Jordan - 10/30/05 10:49 PM In reply to: Poor customer support from Inphonic.com/Wirefly.com by Stormie

don't try it unless you're willing to spend hours on the phone to correct their mistakes... I ordered 2 phones (port may cell and my home)... When I called to confirm the order they only ported my home numbers so I cancelled. They still ported my home number that I have now lost and they failed to cancel the order shiping me 2 phones... when I went to return them they need to charg me 250 more than the 400 I paid as collateral... Die Inphonic
