hey I sent you an email but in case you didn't get it, I asked about the difference between these two SE phones. I can't find anything that's extremely different besides the fact that you can turn off the phone and use it as a music player, the color is orange and the words Walkman are on it. I have to decide between these two phones (192 compared to 297). I think that it's better to buy the 750i and buy a 1 gig stick instead of buying the W800i but i'm interested in other's opinion as well so please respond. Thanks.
I am looking to purchase something that supports Google Mobile services. i.e. XHTML/WAP, SMS.
Seems like Verizon has best deal on services, and it works well in my area (SF south bay). Am considering the LG 4700/5200/6100, Kyocera KX2 etc. What are your suggestions?
I need to replace my Verizon phone... was going to go with the Motorola E815 until I read so many posts about how bad Motos are. I too had the battery charging problems with my old one.
Saw the Samsung a950 today which looked kinda cool. I don't really need a camera phone or VCAST, but wouldn't mind the toys either... I really need great reception in weak areas, and also travel to Mexico occasionally, so is an all-digital phone going to be a problem, or is that now the way to go? Which phone(s) do you recommend the most for Verizon???
I can do the new-every-two plan, and also don't mind kicking in a few bucks (and they have $50 -$100 rebates going too).
Thanks for all the great reviews & info!
...And I looked at the LG 8100 and the Moto 815 before deciding that the LG 6100 was the slam dunk winner here. If I had had to choose between the LG 8100 or the Moto 815, I would have gone with the LG in a heartbeat. like you, my wife and I couldn't care less about bluetooth or MP3 players and the camera issue was a minor one at best. What we found was that the 6100 was a tri-mode phone and so, could flip into analog when necessary in rural areas. It has a positively great user interface making operation of all features incredibly intuitive and straightforward. The camera is fine for what you want a phone to do and, unlike most phone cameras with a flash, the flash on this one is actually useable and actually lights up the subject! The inside display is a great, bright color display, the outside display is monochromatic, but is razor sharp and (added bonus you wouldn't get with an outside color display) can be seen without backlighting. The only thing this wonderful phone doesn't have is an extendable antenna, which is nice to have in fringe reception areas. Best of all, calls are crystal clear and remain that way throughout a conversation.
got sent to his room by his parents!
post is several months old now. he'll have to change the title..

why dont you chill with a friend?
You don't have to be a smartass and rub it in the poor guy's face... When i get a phone, i just walk in, have my parents sign w/e, and then they show me some phones, and from my knowledge i pick one. I don't give a rats as s what they say, though i'm thinking (this guy is incompetent or just doesn't know his stuff). I find it is very rude to interrupt the guy/girl and wouldn't appreciate it if it were me working there and just trying to make some money to pay the bills or w/e. Truly, for jobs such as those, would they really attract enthusiastic ppl who actually memorize all that stuff. Sure they do for some, but majority don't, take compusa,circity,bestbuy,etc... They want ppl with A+ Certs, or other qualifications, they aren't going to hire someone like me, a 15 year-old part time without one. Though i probably know more than them. Then again, i don't really care either, as i just wanted the job to get some money for a new racquet and gear, and other stuff, i can't get my parents to buy. Yet your knowledge is sure to benefit others who seek help here in this forum.
Knowledge is the only thing someone can't take from you.

Well I can say that you are very very good about knowing the information of a cell phone....BUUUUUTTT when you are a cellphone rep and the majority of the people who buy cellphones really dont care if the nokia 6061 has a colour display of 262,000. Yeah it is bad when a cell rep is dumb enough to stand there and say that the razor is made by nokia... dont get me wrong. The thing is that for the majority, the people who get online and research a phone and see what it has to offer want to know alittle bit about the display features or what are the dimensions of the phones are or something weird like that. But when someone comes into buy a phone from you... you talk to them as if you are talking to a group of 5th graders. Not everybody knows the information on the phones like you or I do, so if you are trying to impress them with your vast knowledge you are going to lose out for the majority. Many people like to be taught about a phone and not made to feel dumb because you are going on about 262,000 colour display. Majority rules, most people dont care about how high the colour display is of 262,000, just that this phone has a great colour display. Very sharp and you can see all the images clearly. I give you credit for knowing so much about phones but to sell to the customer is a totally different ball game from knowing just the information on a phone. I am not hear to make enemies I just wanted to let you and anyone else who reads this that not all reps know what they are talking about...
OK, I know that some 15 years olds have cell phones, and they are well-informed about them. In fact, I have a 13 year old daughter who has one. BUT, I need to hear from folks who currently use the Nokia 6061 cell phone, because I would like to know how well it works on the Cingular cell phone system. We are leaving another cell phone system (Alltel) and are getting set up with Cingular. We used to be with Cingular, but we sort of lost our heads when there was a glitch that hit us, and we went to Cellular One before it was absorbed by Alltel. Anyway, my wife and I are very interested in the Nokia 6061 cell phone, because we would like to have a Nokia flip phone. Nokia cell phones are just about the only cell phones we have ever had that were all-around dependable. So, can anyone give us an idea of how many hours of talk time the Nokia 6061 has, and, how decent is its reception? We live quite far out in the country, which means excellent reception and long battery life in a cell phone is a must for us.
I don't mind a 15 year old being knowledgeable about cell phones, but we need information about the Nokia 6061 cell phone now being offered by Cingular, such as how much talk time it has, and how good its reception is. We need that information a lot more than information as to how more informed a 15 year old is than some cell phone salesman/saleswoman is.
Therefore, with no offense intended, any information that someone who is currently using a Nokia 6061 can give us about this talk time and reception would be appreciated.
not 2 be bragging but i am only 12 and am just as good with cell phones as u are. p.s.: ever seen this site? (just curious) https://tutorials.cingular.com/tutorial/web_tutorials/tutorialLogin?subscriberType=cing
