by nickscott11 - 11/18/04 7:21 PMI am considering switching from my current t-mobile family plan to the nextel free incoming plans, can anyone give some insight about nextels service? I think the "walkie talkie" feature looks like it could save some serious minutes (and get me out of long conversations with my wife:) (kidding) I currently work for an agent that sells verizon, so I understand somewhat how verizon and its competitors work, but nextel really catches my eye. let me know what you think. (yes, I know I have t-mobile, work for verizon, and want to switch to nextel)

If you watched the Super Bowl, and saw the guy use the Sprint/Nextel phone as a theft deterrent, that's all it's worth. The phones drop calls, the texting locks up, you can't always direct connect, and the squeeling you get its annoying.

I have better coverage in northern Michigan than I did with VZW, believe it or not. My experience with VZW's equipment has been terrible there PTT phones are a complete waste of time and money as well as their PTT service. Anyway I have had no problems with Nextel, phone and service has been very solid, and in the last 2 weeks they now have international text messaging and it works great. I can send messages to europe all day for no extra charge. But the best part of it all, is my usual 30 min call from my wife on the way home, is now only about 5. HOT DAMN
