Hey guys, I just plan to start a new website. This site will provide instructions how to disassemble Toshiba laptops. I already created guides for Toshiba Satellite 1415, Toshiba Satellite M35X, and Toshiba Satellite A60/A65. I'm not sure if somebody needs this kind of guides. What do you think?
Check it out: http://www.irisvista.com/tech/index.htm
There are many times where you wished
you could just fix your own machine
and not depend on the hassles of servicing
and the time and energy involved. At the
same time, if you're not careful, you could
actually make things worse or void your
semi-precious warranty. I remember years
ago, that Toshiba was one of the very few
notebook manufacturers that actually provided
you with schematics and disassembly instructions.
not anymore.
I just finished a new guide. Toshiba Satellite 2435 - how to remove LCD.
It's here: http://www.irisvista.com/tech/index.htm
Anybody know where i can find this exact same info for Fujitsu. I got my computer back from service a week ago, and apparently they forgot to screw the USB ports back on, because they keep wigglingside to side and in and out when you plug something in.
I have a Laptop Toshiba Satellite 2435-s255. I wonder if it has a built-in microphone. I am not sure about it. Thanks very much.
Sincerely
Typically if it has a webcam built in there would also be a microphone, if no web cam, no built in mic.
Hey guys,
I posted couple new teardown guides with pictures:

More guides are coming. I think the next would be Toshiba Tecra TE2100.
I hope it’s useful for you.
i have a toshiba a45-s121 and one of my friends dumped a glass of water on it. the following keys do not work now. Q a z s d g b n j. What should I do? I think if I take it apart and clean the contact points then it will work. I need a guide on how to do it. Could you make one? if so please email me at brandonbarlow@gmail.com if you can. thank you.
I do not have a guide for A45-S121 yet.
You can follow steps 9-14 here:
http://irisvista.com/tech/laptops/ToshibaA1/tecraA1_1.htm
This is a guide for Tecra A1, but it would be very similar for A45.
Most likely, you'll have to replace the keyboard.
Good luck.
I need to replace the fan in my laptop and I am having difficulty figuring out how to do so. Can anybody help? Please!
Make a nice new one. But I see manuals here so why not use them?
New guide is ready:

Good luck.
One more guide with pictures is ready.
Toshiba Satellite 1800. I believe, a lot of people have this model.
Oh man, it was a long ride. 40 PICTURES!!!
Next week I’ll try to take pictures from Toshiba Satellite P25 (that’s a big one).
You’ll find this guide here: http://irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba1800/satellite1800_1.htm
Good luck!
Hello there. I find your posts very interesting if s bit hair-raising:-) Have you ever dismantled a series 5000 Satellite. If so can you tell me how much work is involved in replacing a brake hinge. I have a 5005 that has a broken left hinge and I would like to repair it as I've had good service from it . It would probably cost more than the laptop is worth to have Ioshiba fix it. I have a new Acer so I don't have a great need for the Toshiba, but it has served me well and I'd like to restore it. Good luck with your brave project. Stewart
Hi Stewart.
I never worked on 5000 series. I cannot tell you right now how much work is involved, because I didn't see the unit. You can try to find a not working laptop on eBay and replace all broken parts. I'll take pictures from 5000 as soon as I get it for repair.
Good luck.
