I have Windows XP SP2 with IE 6.0 and comcast broadband...should I use Mozilla or Firefox instead of IE? But, I have email with yahoo...wlll I still be able to use that with Firefox? I saw CNET has high marks for Firefox..not sure what I should do, but read that using one of those would be better than IE. Looks like they are two seperate programs...Mozilla 1.7 and firefox 1.7
First, make sure that you keep Internet Explorer installed on the machine since it's needed for certain sites such as Windows Updates, etc. (Besides, it's not really feasible to completely remove it anyway.)
The Mozilla suite is a combination of items, including the Mozilla browser, e-mail, etc. Firefox is only a browser..And since they're both FREE, why not give them both a try. Install one, use it for a while, then uninstall it. Then install the other and use it for a while. If you don't like one, keep the other.

Firefox works fine with Yahoo Mail. I use them both myself..
Hope this helps.

Thanks ...I will do the Firefox then first..since I can still use my yahoo mail with that...
when I download the Firefox...do I have to install Flash and Real Player or will I still have those..I have them now but not sure with what? did they come with IE or did they come with Windows XP or comcast...I am brand new to computers...
You're RealPlayer program should automatically work with Firefox but there is a special Flash Player that needs to be installed. Here's the download link:

In order to determine which plugins are installed on your Firefox browser, type: About:plugins into the address bar at the top, then click on the "Go" button just to the right of the address bar.
Hope this helps.

...and access it using Firefox..If you access the page while in Firefox, you should be able to download the Flash installer file for FF.

Then again, I'm using FF 1.0.7 at this time and I'm not completely certain whether the Flash Player plugin was available for 1.0.4.. (I know it worked on the last couple of versions..1.0.5 and 1.0.6.)
Hope this helps.

Always keep IE on hand you'll find quirks on some websites that won't allow you to use their features with firefox but it will work fine on IE.
Firefox all the way!
I have all three (Firefox, IE and Mozilla,) plus Netscape and others. I find when you take full advantage of all that Firefox has to offer it is quite simply the best.
Like others posted, make sure you keep IE on your system, you will need IE for some sites (you won't have much luck doing a windows system update on the MS site with Firefox.)
Make sure to take advantage of some of the great "extensions" to give you greater tools for browsing, and they have posted on the site all kinds of cool skins.
I mainly use Mozill FireFox
